“So many names, so many lives”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2011

I had seen the traveling wall and very much wanted to see the original. I found the name of the hometown boy I was seeking in one of the many guide books and we moved towards the wall to find "him". It is hard to explain how it hits you when you realize that from the shortest wall to the tallest, there are names, and more names, and more names....and each one is a son, a husband, a brother, a daughter, a sister, a daddy, a mommy, a special someone who never came home. To stand next to a soldier with tears running down his face as he touches the names of his buddies who didn't make it back. There is so much living happening at this wall every moment you are there.

Be prepared to be touched and to cry.

“Iconic memorial worth visiting more than once”

This simple memorial makes a huge impact. There is almost always a crowd so take some extra time to make sure you get to absorb the simplicity of this memorial. The impact is lasting.

“Simple Memorial with a great impact.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2011

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial is a place you have to visit if you are in D.C. It consists of 2 black walls, with the names of all the people fallen in that tragic war. You will find always people looking for a relative in that wall, and you'll find also flowers, letters and a lot of things people place in the Memorial. Also, you'll find near the wall that points toward the Lincoln Memorial, a statue of 3 soldiers, which represents the African American, the Asian and the Latin soldiers that fight for the U.S. during that war.

“Visited by night, a sad yet beautiful reminder of courage and sacrifice.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2011

What can I say, it’s sad to see so many names of brave men and woman on the wall, but it is a beautiful memorial, simple in design a solid wall that represents the solid sacrifice that the USA made in Vietnam.

“A Must See Memorial”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2011

Very moving, especially when many visitors you see here either fought in Vietnam or had loved ones who did.
