“A lot to watch, if you have a lot of time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2011

The Library of Congress is one of the most important places in D.C. It has a lot of literature, of whatever topic you can imagine.
We visited this place after the Capitol Building, so we did not have a lot of time.
Externally they have a fountain that is truly impressive, and worth to take a picture.
If you have a lot of time this is a place where you can spend hours and hours, but even if you have little time, you have to visit it.

“Very impressive”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2011

After visiting The Capitol we went through the tunnel to the Library of Congress. We were lucky because it was Colombus Day so we cold enter to the Main Reading Room instead of seeing it from the GAllery. It was like being in Nicholas Cage movie, as far as I recongnized all the places and I could be in them . Apart from the collections I'd like the old clock and the shelves filled with book. A very nice place to visit

“Lucky to visit on Columbus day”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2011

Columbus We were luck to see the Capitol building and thus the Library of Congress on Columbus day as the Library was opened up as an attraction and not in use as a library only for that day.

We spoke to a lovely older lady named Jan who chatted to us for a good 15 mins, she was so nice to us, I think being on our honeymoon helped! But seriously she was excellent and gave us so much info on the Library itself.

If you want to see some history and a beautiful appointed old library then by all means, go to the Library of Congress but try to do it on Columbus day.

I would visit again on any other day too, it was such a lovely building and area of the Capitol building.
