Newseum is overwhelming - it's huge, comprehensive and batters all of your senses. Your biggest challenge is covering the museum in the time you've budgeted. I guarantee you'll not have enough time and end up leaving disappointed (we did).
During our three hour visit we were only able to cover the G-Men and Berlin Wall exhibit on the lower level, the Front Pages exhibit and outdoor terrace (with a stunning view of Capitol Hill) on the 6th floor and the News History exhibit on the 5th floor. The latter is a fascinating experience as you get to look at front pages of newspapers/magazines covering historic events over the past 500 years. They are thrilling first hand look at world history and one could literally spend hours reading through them and looking at the more comprehensive exhibits along the side wall. We never did have time to visit the other floors!
If your time is limited, be sure to download the 2 hour highlight tour guide available on their website.
TIP: Keep in mind that your entrance ticket is valid for two consecutive days. This gives you the option of returning to cover some of the exhibits you missed on your first go round.
