“A Great Way to See the County”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

The W&O stretches from DC out to Western Loudoun County and provides a well maintained, safe means to bike, skate or run across the county. The W&O is also well marked with historical panels that describe what took place along the W&O dating back from Revolutionary days to the Civil War to more modern times. The W&O provides a great break from suburbia. Give it a try!

“Washington's Cycling Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2011

The Washington and Old Dominion Bike Trail is just incredible. It stretches from very urban areas in Arlington, 42 miles through suburbs, through the tech corridor, along the vibrant Reston Town Center, out into the bucolic farmland of Western Loudoun County.
I have ridden it 100 times or more, and it is just fabulous. The best part is west of Leesburg, a tree-covered respite from the heat in the summer, and just plain inspiring. To top it all off, there is a superb restaurant--Magnolia's--right at the western end of the trail, with al fresco seating for sweaty bikers! The only downsides are that it can be crowded on weekends in parts, and there are a number of cross streets to naviagate--but it sure beats riding on roads in Northern Virginia traffic.
