Belle Isle is a newer state park in virginia. This place is immaculate!! Campground has 28 sites which have 2 lantern holders and a huge picnic table. Sites are very large, level and gravel. There is a tent pad at each site as well covered with pea gravel. Each site is wooded and feels private. The sites in the middle are pull thru's. Bath house is very clean-didn't even see a spider web anywhere!. Has private shower and changing rooms with hot water. Bath house also has utility sink to do your dishes and 2 coin washer/dryers. Sites have electric and water but no sewer. There is a dump station however. Park is very peaceful and beautiful. It is located in Lancaster, VA on the Rappahannock River. A great place to boat/kayak/canoe. There is a car top launch area on one side of the park and a boat ramp on the other. Also a great place to bike-nice and flat paved roads. There is a very small sandy beach that you can wade in the river to knee height. Playground and picnic areas are also very beautiful overlooking the river. Small camp store sells camping essentials, bait, and ice. Kilmarnock is nearby for restaurants, shops, etc.
