“Lovely park if you can find it”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013

The city has built a wonderful large park around the river. You can walk along one bank of the river, cross over and walk along the other. New cement walkways take you through the green grass. Hard to believe you are in the desert.

“Tom O”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

My wife has decided to try fly fishing so we went to the Reel Life fly fishing store in the Sanbusco shopping center in the rail yard of Santa Fe and hired a guide, Jesse, to take us fishing. He suggested that we try fishing the Pecos River because of it's beauty but it had been good fishing.
We followed our guide as we drove to the river. Driving up the road through the mountains alongside the river, it looked just like something you see in the movies. Mountains on both sides covered with beautiful trees and a flowing river under a blue sky. We stopped about three different places to fish and to the delight of my wife, as she caught many fish which makes for a perfect day of fly fishing. The scenery is breathtaking and since it was midweek, there weren't a lot of other people fishing so none of the places we stopped were anywhere crowded.

“Pleasant Drive”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

The Pecos river was really running due to the rains and was quite pretty to drive alongside. The Old Flume was quite neat to see and read about - lots of history along that river!

“Fun place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2013

Our kids enjoyed the roped off swimming section of the river. Lifeguards were on duty there. We took the evening river cruise and it was great fun. The humorous boat captain gave a lot of information during the 45-minute cruise.

“Beautiful”

They have done a wonderful job with a river walk, park and recreation area along the Pecos River. This was our favorite thing in Carlsbad.
