“Rio Chama, New Wave Rafting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2011

Floated the Rio Chama with New Wave Rafting on a 3 day trip. This was my third time on this river and my first time with New Wave. This section of river is one of the most beautiful parts of the state, winding through beautiful red & yellow sandstone & tuff - the views were spectacular and just kept coming throughout the trip. We saw lots of wildlife including ducks, canadian geese with goslings, a golden eagle, deer, snakes & lizards, etc.. Camped overnight for two nights & were extremely well taken care of throughout the entire trip by our knowledgable guide Karen House. New Wave provided great equipment, excellent food & made the trip extremely easy & enjoyable.

We love the chama valley area so much that we brought a cabin in the brazos cliff area the only thing is if you ski you have a long way to drive over to wolf creek chama is great and they cut the slopes south of town for what look like a ski area but i haven't see any thing else being done would like to here from someone who does
