“Great Hikes”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

We recently stayed in Randolph, and were about 5 minutes away from the Appalachia Trail Heads...Fabulous, but not for the faint of heart or out of shape. Moderate in NH is difficult in most other places! We hiked the Valleyway to Madison AMC Hut, which is basically a rock scramble the last quarter mile plus, hut is awesome. From there you can go up to Mt. Madison, Adams or hook up with several other trails.

We also did Maple Way, Sylvan Way, Kelton, Dome Rock and Brookbank Trails. All excellent and at times include a lot of climbing and going through creeks. Fabulous views from Kelton Crag and Dome Rock.

“Hiking the Appalachians, New Hampshire”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2012

We chose to stay at a condo in North Woodstock, New Hampshire, to take advantage of the wonderful hiking in the Appalachian Mountains, including sections of the famous Appalachian Trail. Although Mt. Washington, (highest peak), was clouded in during much of our stay, there were many other mountain hikes that provided incredible scenic views from the tops. One hike in particular included a section of the AT- called the Franconia Ridge. The ridge section of this strenuous loop hike included three peaks, Mt. Lincoln, Mt. Haystack and Mt. Lafayette. The trails up to and down from these mountains included a visit to the Appalachian Mountain Club hut on one side and some beautiful waterfalls on the other. There are many other outdoor activities in this area, including many ski resorts that we'll return to try out in the winter!
