“Fantastic Drive”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2012

An alternative road to 101 in northern California. We loved the road and it was so inspiring. The scenery is spectacular and you should not miss this if at all possible! You won't be sorry you took this drive.

“Everyone should visit Avenue of the Giants!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2012 via mobile

We took the kids to experience the tallest trees & they were amazed! They loved parking on side & taking several of the trails. You really have to do that in order to experience it completely. We were in awe over the size of these trees & the fact they are over a thousand years old! We also walked down to the river and it was pretty too! Oh & its free which I couldnt believe. I would have paid to experience it! It is definitely something we will never forget!

“Beyond description”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2012

This is one of those experiences that will leave you in awe. There is nothing quite like it. I hesitated to spread the word because a huge part of the awe comes from the deep silence and stillness of the place. I can't help but wonder if more visitors might spoil some of that aura. If you're hoping to see redwoods, this stretch is a must. The other smaller groves are wonderful, but don't have quite the same impact.

“Take a little time and enjoy a fantastic diversion”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2012

The drive through the Avenue of the Giants was one of our favorite things that we did on our vacation. The redwoods are so awe inspiring and the forest is really beautiful. In addition, it did not take a lot longer than the main road. You can get on and off but we traveled the full length and stopped quite a few times to take in the scenery and take photos.

“HUG A GIANT REDWOOD TREE....IT IS A MEMORY THAT WILL LAST YOU A LIFETIME”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2012

If you have never hugged a Giant Redwood Tree while driving on the Avenue of the Giants you are missing one of the most spectacular creations of nature. These trees, thousands of years old are just so awesome and overwhelming. Just one tree has enough raw timber to build and entire house. The forests of Redwood Trees on the Avenue of the Giants is one of the only areas that have not been disturbed by the disruptive actions of our human race. They demand our respect and a loving hug from us. There are short yet beautiful trails developed by the Forest Service that enable a mystifying hike through parts of the Forests. If you ever get the chance to travel to Northern California....take it from me....one hug of a Redwood Tree will give you a memory to last for a lifetime. Avenue of the Giants is easily accessed from the Redwood Highway 101. It is a routing off of Highway 101 and has several access ramps. You can't miss the road signs that pronounce the ramps to Avenue of the Giants and the Avenue at it's end ramps you right back onto Highway 101.
