“Meh...it was ok. Was expecting more.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2014

Let me start off by saying it is a pretty drive. As far as the wow factor...I sure didnt see it.

Im guessing everyone that drove this and thought it was amazing has never driven the road to hana. Thats probably why I was so desensitized to this. The PCH had some curves but not a single one I would consider scary...nor did at any time did I feel like I could drive off a cliff. There are guard rails everywhere...not to mention the shoulder is pretty wide. Seriously though...for those that were scared on this road avoid the road to hana like the plague. You wont be able to handle it. Heck there were scarier roads in Kings canyon in Sequoia national park.

There are some cool things to see. The seals were probably the most exciting thing. I had zero interest in visiting some billionaires house castle thing. You can see some of it from the road...thats good enough for me.

As far as the views go. They're nice...but again if youve driving any of the hawaiian islands this looks really similar.

Traffic wise...there really wasnt too much. You can go at your own pace.

“Stunning drive”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2014

We drove San Francisco to L.A and stopped at Monterey and pismo. The drive on the most part is stunning, especially south of Monterey. We passed so many gorgeous views, highlights were a cove with a waterfall and the elephant seals. We were in a convertible camero which made the experience sensational. A must do for anyone, it's truly magical

“Wind Your Way Up or Down”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2014

If you live in or come to California this is a drive you have to take. Winding and twisting along the cliffs above the Pacific Ocean, it's a beautiful drive. If some fast sport car gets in back of you there are plenty of turnouts (laybys) where you can step out, enjoy the ever-changing view and take photos that will last a lifetime. Some nice restaurants and cafes in certain places as well. It's really a 'must' drive.

“Once you're on, you're on”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2014

This is a spectacular drive, but not for the faint hearted. It's 2 lane; twisty and drop-offs that have little or no guardrails. Once you are on this coastal highway, there's no exit until it ends. There's often a stiff breeze off the water,so added to everything else, the driver better be good and can expect a stiff neck and shoulder at the end of the drive. Advil anyone??

“From San Francisco to Half Moon Bay- Beautiful”

The views were spectacular. Take your camera and make time to stop for pictures! Cliffs, beaches and rocks in quite coves.
