“A jewel in the Sierra Nevada mountains”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013

It was a crisp October day but the lake was sparkling. The water was freezing but I had to wade for just a few minutes. The ride up highway 50 is beautiful and relaxing but I was disappointed that I missed the vista turnoff to get a grand view of the valley and lake before descending the mountain. I wish there was a prominent sign in advance. New growth has all but covered the signs of past fires and snow could be seen on higher elevations. I could spend hours sitting near the lake breathing in the pine scented air. Hotels/ motels run the range from reasonable to expensive, rustic to fancy. There is something for every taste. This particular day there was a free old car show and also a pow-wow with native foods like Indian fry bread. Bikes and boats can be rented and you can see the trails for ski runs that will be busy once winter arrives. For a quiet little get-away I would recommend Lake Tahoe in any season.

“Beautiful!”

Just so beautiful and peaceful. Gentle waves lapping the shore, clean, clear water! Great for walks along the shore and just unwinding and renewing. Our dog loved swimming after the ducks!

“Lake Tahoe”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2013

Lake Tahoe was more beautiful than expected. There are kayak rentals, rides on the paddleboat, hiking trails and really neat shops to explore. We did a day trip, as we were staying in Reno, NV, but next time, we will stay in Lake Tahoe itself.

“Absolutely beautiful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2013

We visited Lake Tahoe in May this year. It is one of the most beautiful lakes I have ever seen. Its clean, serene and calm. A one hour boat ride is highly recommended. Unfortunately, we could not enjoy certain activities due to cold weather. But just to be at the lake side was a truly memorable experience.
