“lovely Cuban family; an authentic home-stay in gracious colonial Trinidad home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013

Cuba is such a complex country and society and Mercedes and Eddy's B&B captures the essence of this captivating country and society. Mercedes is a pediatrician who practices medicine and teaches at the local medical school. She is also a gracious hostess and accomplished cook. She suggested that my family of five dine in their home one evening instead of going out to a restaurant. What a delicious feast of delicious Cuban food she assembled. We also had the good fortune of staying at their home on New Years Eve. Their son, who was home from university on vacation, kindly took our two late teen and twenty something sons with him when he went out to celebrate at the local clubs. They had a great time and saw true Cuban nightlife where all the Cubans go. I would love to have this family as our friends at home and it was a pleasure to meet them and stay in their home (which has been in the family for generations). Only in Cuba could you have an experience like this.

December days are always very hectic around Christmas and New Year, meets Cuban family at home and there are many festivals and in nightclubs music is late, so quiet that one offers tourists the rest the year is not the same in these holidays. Glad you enjoyed dinner and stay with us because the care, cleaning and customer servcios always kept, and the output of Saul with his children, he is pleased to share with young people and teach the beautiful Trinitarian nights and festivals. Greet the whole family and have a good year in their lives, Mercedes

My wife and I had a wonderful 5 days in the home of Mercedes and Eddy. Out of the kitchen came whatever we requested. Nothing was any trouble. Our hosts also advised us on where to eat in town.Mercedes as a doctor was most concerned when my wife was unwell and took the trouble to listen to her chest and supply her with antibiotics. Eddy took us out in his taxi and was a helpful guide. An added bonus was when daughter, Maria, 9 years old had her piano lesson and delighted us with a rendering of her repetoire! Without a doubt, the breakfasts at Elda y Roberto's were the best I had the whole time I was in Cuba. My room was large and well equipped with a door straight out to a patio. Mercedes and Eddy were exceptionally helpful in making arrangements and the experience of staying with a Cuban family was one of the highlights of my trip.
