“Best food in Cuba”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2013

Everyone had warned me just how bad Cuban food was.....this place was the exception...on both nights we ate a selection of all there starters from creations such as the autumn nest....a wonderful chocolate dish bringing back memories of Mexico..... To cakes.....which were really pies...and most generous lobster cocktail......the band was lovely......and the Havana Specials were fantastic to kickstart the evening.......

“A breath of fresh air”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

Not only the Casa and the setting are incredibly beautiful (greatly helped by the in house quartet) but the variety of the foods is amazing. The choices on offer are so extensive that there are two different menus, one for fish and one for meat. Yes it is true that the service is slow but the combination of ingredients makes up for the wait.

Paladar Sol y Son uses different spices and ingredient combinations we weren´t able to find almost anywhere in Cuba (ginger, ´clavo´, etc). My friend had the chocolate chicken and although I am not a fan of sweet and savoury combinations I must admit it tasted really good. When we finished dinner we were so full that we couldn´t order dessert but we dropped by the following day eat something sweet and the desserts didn´t disspoint.

“Best restaurant in Trinidad”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

We went here twice it was so nice and so much better than the other restaurants.

Excellent food - try the lobster (and very good value) in a lovely romantic setting in a courtyard surrounded by Antiques etc

“wonderful ambience and service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

Had a magical evening for my birthday. Best setting garden, courtyard, lush plants, fountains, candles. Belle-Epoque, antique dishes etc. The restaurant itself is like a museum. Best service. No rush yet so professional. We loved it not to have been interrupted bythe staff every 10 minutes. The menu list is long and we were not disappointed. The Trova Band Cuarteto trinisur is a band to listen to. Again thank you for the delicious dessert treat plate while celebrating my birthday.

“A must in this beautiful city”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2013

Liliana, the owner has managed to keep the quality of the service in her "paladar".
May be it's the oldest one in the city, dating from the times when tour guides and bus drivers had to drop the tourists two blocks away becoause of the restrictions of the official tour companies. I specially recommend the grilled fish.
