“A good hostal to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2012

We stayed two nights in Hostal Sandra y Victor in Trinidad. The casa is situated almost in the historical towncenter. Victor showed us where we could park the car at a private parking nearby. Sandar and Victor are very friendly and they offered a good breakfast. The rooms are on the first floor where is also a terrace, a dining room and at the frontside a balcony. A good place to stay!

This palce can only be recommended.
Sandra and Victor's son Reinier (26 years young) was our guide during the stay; we visited "topes de collante and los ingenios valley" with him. He is really a great guy.
He can also offer you a driver service (very helpfull in Cuba) - Just make your schedule and he will help you to realize it !

Food is great. Victor and Sandra are the best host in Trinidad! Been there 2 times (dec 08, dec 09) and I'm looking forward to going back!

My experience with the casa was very positive. We really liked the room, but the the shared spaces were the winners - a huge patio with ceramic pots and a bar, a dining room and a balcony. Another family of travellers was accommodated in the casa while were staying but we hardly felt their presence as the upstairs is so big.

The food was typical Cuban, and I didn't find any fault with it (in response to the previous review). We really liked the mojitos made by Victor's son. Indeed, my partner said these were his best mojitos in Cuba.

We stayed in Casa Victor for two days, and Victor helped with finding a new casa when we moved on.

The house is very beautiful and there's a lot of free space for the guests. Victor came home to welcome us and he was really very nice. Sandra gave us the cold shoulder later in the afternoon. Why? Maybe we offended her by not having dinner in the casa. If so, we are sorry. But we were only one night in Trinidad and wanted to go out into the town, have a meal and listen to music. I think we should not feel obliged to have dinner in the casa? It did not feel nice.
Victor took care of the breakfast next morning and it was not very good. But at least he served it with a smile. So Victor, sorry if we are negative. It's not your fault.

Sorry if you think that we was indifferent due your decision to dine at our house. The situation was totally another without any relationship with you. That day we received the news about the illness of a family member who made the whole family feel very badly. You cannot think so subjectively that the indifference was because of a decision to have dinner or not. Anyway, we apologize for the inconvenience we cause and wish you good luck.
Sincerely
Sandra and Victor

I just spent a week in Trinidad at Casa Sandra y Victor and would highly recommend it to anyone who is visiting Trinidad. There are two upstairs rooms that have their own entrance and open up to a big outdoor sunny patio in back and nice balcony in front over the street. The rooms were very clean and each had their own attached bathroom that were also very clean.

Sandra and Victor are very friendly and took great care of us. Their son, Ranier, was also there and he was great in helping the family out and also speaks very good English. The food is so-so but always very plentiful and each night they ask me if I wanted fish, pork, or even turtle. Breakfasts were always good with strong coffee, eggs (any way you want), bread, and fresh fruit.

My girlfriend got a stomach illness when we were leaving Havana and was very sick by the time we got to Trinidad. Sandra, Victor and Ranier did everything they could to make sure she was comfortable and had everything they could provide to help her get better. They even arranged a doctor to come over to the house to check up on here and prescribe antibiotics. I couldn't have imagined being in a better house while she was getting through the sickness.

All in all, Casa Sandra y Victor was great and I highly recommend it.
