“Very good hosts”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013

My boyfriend and I stayed 3 nights in Trinidad.
We already had a feeling we would have a great stay, when a guy came to pick us up from the Viazul bus station in the pouring rain with a bike taxi. It was super funny:). The streets were flooded, but all went fine and we reached the casa were a smiling Mila greeted us.
She was very professional, but did not seem bored of asking us documents.
What I found lovely is that she hang a little flag of Finland on the terrace. There was another flag, too, according to the nationality of the customers.
The food the husband Bury prepares is lovely and the room was also lovely.
And somehow I felt they were genuine and believed they were doing a good job and didn´t need to bribe us to get goods reviews on Tripadvisor for example, as another casa did...
Anyway, Trinidad is lovely and this casa is very good, as for the casa and especially because of the merry Mila, I liked a lot.

Room Tip: Cuba is a busy place and people stay out till late and wake up early, therefore if you are a light s...

"La Milagrosa" is a wonderful hostel in Trinidad. We stayed here for six nights and liked the place very much. The rooms are nice and clean, the beds are comfortable. A surprise is the roof terrace for breakfast and dinner. It is so beautiful with all the paintings and decorations. Here you can enjoy and see the city and the montains. The hostel is very well situated a few minutes from all the attractions of Trinidad.

Mila and Bury are a very helpful and friendly couple. The meals were always perfect and Bury ist the best cook. It was a very good time with them and we really really recommend you to visit this accommodation.

We loved our time with Mila and Bury - they are such warm, welcoming and caring hosts. Their casa is beautifully clean and well located, and the rooftop terrace for breakfast is a treat. Their hospitality is genuine and generous and we highly recommend visitors to Cuba to make the trip to Trinidad and to stay with them. Trinidad is stunning too. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay there longer!

We were recommended Milagrosa by some backpackers we met in Cienfeugos and we were not disappointed! Mila came to meet us at the bus station in Trinidad with a name sign and a British flag which was a great sight to see at a busy bus station! We were taken to Milagrosa by taxi cycle and immediately were made to feel at home. We had a welcome drink on the fantastic roof terrace and later were cooked an amazing dinner of king prawns (and the rest!).

Unfortunately we could only stay one night but Mila kindly arranged our next Casa which was fantastic too. Mila and Bury will help you with anything you need, it's like staying with your family, I cannot recommend them enough. Gracias Mila Y Bury! And thank you for the photos, I loved seeing them!

Having come from the hustle and bustle of Havana our stay at La Milagrosa with Mila and Bury was brilliant. In short, we couldn't have asked for more from our hugely caring and hospitable hosts, that helped make our time in Trinidad a relaxing and restorative stay while also allowing us to soak up a bit of Cuban day to day life.

Despite originally planning on staying for 5 nights, we stayed for 6, both feeling at home and at ease in the comfort of the casa. We used it as a base to explore Trinidad and its surrounding area, both forest (and amazing waterfall- that wasn't Caburni) and beach (on the way to Playa Ancon was Grill Caribe- classic Carribean turquoise water). Every evening we'd come home for a couple of beers watching the life on the streets around us and sunsets, and Bury would have cooked something spectacular and delicious (ALWAYS eat at la Milagrosa) which we'd eat on the roof terrace with its great views over the town. We'd then saunter up to La Casa de la Musica to watch the dancing going on around us before strolling gently home.

Mila and Bury really would go out of their way to look after us, such as when we managed to get sunburn in the rain and taking us to a very nice Cuban hospital (for a solitary stitch after a tumble). Suggestions of things to do and see, were readily available from Mila, who'd pull together a way of getting their too.

Basically, it was great and we had a wonderful time at the casa. Heartily recommended.

We stayed in 8 different casas in Cuba and that was by far the best one. Mila and Bury are very caring and the roof top terrace is a better place for a meal than most restaurants can offer. Same goes for food. Great value for money.

Mila and Bury were wonderful hosts, with a great upstairs suite and balcony. We located it through tripadviser and were very pleased with everything from the room to meals to the service (a cocotaxi waiting for us at the bus station without us asking for it). They offered solid advice for destinations and let us know how much things should cost in Trinidad. Bury cooked excellent meals (try the shrimp and lobster) which we ate on their rooftop terrace.

Trinidad is a beautiful town with lots of old Cuba character. We walked all over, at all times of the night and day and always felt safe, even when we ventured out of the tourist areas. We highly recommend the tours in the nearby mountains, through the coffee plantations and jungle. Don't drive your rental car here, roads are rough and steep.

Thanks you, Mila and Bury for a great stay.
