The hosts are a lovely, caring and warm couple, who make you feel like at home the whole time. The house is beautiful and the suite is fabulously decorated and equiped. Complementary coffee, tea and even biscuits! The breakfast is absolutely divine. They offer the option of car rental which was very convenient for us, we were greeted and picked up at the ferry station by the guy from the rental. The location of Iluka is gorgeous, they have the fortune of having a natural reserve practically as their "backyard", so the view is astonishing, very peaceful and surrounded by nature. The beach (rocky) is a few steps away. Rocky Bay is considered a very powerful energetic place, it is said that it sits on one of the largest crystal grids. Many wonderful reasons to pick this B&B.

Iluka is run by Kathy & John and it is obvious they love their home and love guests! Everything about the place speaks of comfort and care. We were 3 ladies from Auckland having a break and Waiheke by fast ferry is ideal. One of our party had been there before and highly recommended it. Kathy & John greeted us all like old friends and we felt very welcome and relaxed. Iluka is a great spot from which to look around the island, find the good wineries, shops and restaurants. The highlight of our stay had to be Kathy's awesome breakfasts. She obviously loves to cook and we loved to eat! Just cannot fault Iluka - will be back to this lovely spot for sure!

Kathy & John are the ultimate good hosts, who have thought of anything you might need before you ever thought of it. Coming from the U.S. we were a little the worse for wear, driving on 'the wrong side of the road', etc.
Experiencing New Zealand really IS seeing the best that nature has to offer-including the fact that no body in the WHOLE country has window screens, as they want to be 'with' nature, and not have the view impeded with 'screens'. It truly was like experiencing our own little corner of 'Eden' and was lovely.

We stayed at Iluka just after Easter for 3 nights with our 2 yr old son. We couldn't have been happier with the accommodation and helpful friendly hosts. The quality and attention to detail was second to none, from the linen to the delicious cooked breakfast. We would gladly return!

Iluka bed and breakfast is a perfect place to stay on Waiheke Island. The property is located at a very peaceful spot called Rocky Bay and it has a uninterrupted view of the sea across a well kept area of grassland. John and Kathy are fantastic hosts, Kathy met us off the ferry and also drove us to a local restaurant one evening. We ate breakfast and an evening meal on their balcony and the food on both occasions was very nice indeed. The accomodation is a private, spacious and very tidy annex of their house and consists of two bedrooms, a bathroom and a sitting room. I would thoroughly recommend this b&b to anyone wishing to stay on Waiheke Island.

Kathy and John were wonderful, gracious hosts. The accomodation and bed were very comfortable and private. The breakfast was delicious! The muesli was homemade, as well as freshly cut fruit ,and the cooked breakfast was cooked to perfection.
Along with this they recommended where we should eat out for dinner. It was a superb and tasty recommendation. Thank you kathy and John.

We loved Waiheke Island and Iluka B&B was a great place to stay. Kathy and John are such great hosts and it was obvious that they would do almost anything to make our stay pleasant. We had fruit waiting for us and a card expressing wishes for our birthday celebration. The breakfasts were absolutely wonderful! Kathy even shared a recipe.

Access to the beach was great and we hiked quite a bit. We received excellent suggestions from John and Kathy about places to eat and things to see.

I recommend Iluka as a very good choice while on Waiheke. You can't go wrong.

Thankyou for your review on Iluka. In regard to the mosquito problem I have mosquito repellents in the rooms which you plug into a switch and are very effective.I also have an insect spray and a natural pyrethium spray. In new Zealand we tend not to have screens on our windows
