The aquarium is small and nothing extraordinary, but it is a great place to while away some time while waiting for the ferry. It is also a bit expensive, but discounts are available upon presentation of your ferry ticket (on the day of your travel). Our daughters (3- and 4-year old) really enjoyed the visit and the displays were interesting for us adults. It could do with a few more things in the touch tank. On the plus side, we got to see 2 tuataras! It's a bit of a Cinderella place, but OK.
