“Perfect Position in Picton”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 weeks ago

Nice clean and comfortable rooms. Pleasant staff, nice restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Perfect location within Picton, although Picton is only small, it is still walking distance to all the main attractions along the waterfront and in the small town centre.

The general manager uhlas shetty does an amazing job at delivering impeccable customer service to his guests in order to make them feel like this place is there home away from home. The chef koi, makes delicious meals to a world class standard and the receptionists Jo ashleigh and kelsie ensure your stay is so comfortable and welcoming. The house maids are extremely meticulous as well. As a former hotel duty manager I am extremely impressed. And your probably thinking why I remembered all the staffs names? Well go figure I have stayed here once and they made me and my partner feel like they were our friends. Truly world class. Thank you park Regis picton.. We will return soon.Lauren & Dominic, Wellington.

We had a great room with a fantastic view. Great value, room was very reasonable rate. Ashleigh at reception was so nice and really looked after us. My only complaint would be the price of wi if in your room is too high so we used the free wi fi in the restaurant but it was only for 30 minutes.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the water on the 3rd floor

Stayed in a third floor ocean view room. Very clean and modern with plenty of room for our family of four in one double bed and two twin beds. Great shower - spacious with good water pressure. Not many TV channels to choose from but that didn't bother us. There are two washing machines and a dryer on the first floor - $3 for each and they seemed to work well. Great location - just a left turn off the main road as you leave the ferry (Left on Dublin which turns into Waikawa - hotel is on the left). Took about two minutes to drive there once we got off the boat. Easy to walk to the largest grocery store (Fresh Market). Just walk out of the front of the hotel and turn right. Turn left on High Street (your second left) and it is on your left. Less than a five minute walk. The other direction on High Street has lots of shops/restaurants. Continue down High Street past the shops to the waterfront and there is a great playground for kids and a beautiful view and benches for adults.

Dear Eddie F
I appreciate the time you have taken to complete a review of Park Regis Picton.
We have a number of bedding configurations to cater for most families and the rooms are large enough so you do not feel too restricted.
We are well situated being close to shops, ferry terminal and the marina. The views from the Superior Ocean View rooms are very good over looking the Sounds.
Along with the laundry facilities we have a restaurant and bar with opening times depending on the season.

Thank you again for your review.

Best Regards

This hotel has lovely rooms, recently refurbished, and great value for their bed and breakfast package.

The room we had was ocean facing, top floor. It was spacious, modern, and very clean. The bed was firm and comfortable, hard to get out of! There was a nice big flat screen mounted on the wall with plenty of stations to choose from (although I don't have TV at home so more than 3 stations seems like a lot to me). The room had a balcony and the view was awesome! The bay in Picton is stunning, it was fun being able to watch the ferries come in and out from the room. The pool was closed as it is winter and an outdoor pool, it was drained and dirty which detracted a bit from the view.

The bathroom was nice and big, plenty of counter space. My favorite part of the whole room was probably the shower, it had a normal detachable shower head and also one of those giant rain shower heads, you could switch between the two or have them both going, amazing water pressure. I just wish there had been shelf space in the shower, as a woman who loves her products its a bit of a pain having to put everything on the floor.

Christopher, the staff member who checked us in, was very friendly and helpful. He had taken the time to turn the heating and lights on in our room for our arrival and had put the wine we had ordered in an ice bucket with glasses. The housekeeping team was also very good, quick and thorough.

The dining room is small but nicely decorated and comfortable with a view, and the food was very good - I recommend the eggs Benedict with salmon. Just be sure your down to get your breakfast early or you may be told off by the lady who runs the morning shift, I was given a small lecture on what time breakfast starts both mornings despite being down by 9:30 (breakfast ends at 10). Its a pity, because aside from that staff member I enjoyed everything.

The location is right in town, close to all the restaurants and the marina.

I would stay again... just maybe in a few months with the hopes the breakfast staff are a bit more friendly!

Room Tip: Pay the extra to get a third floor ocean facing room.

Dear Megan P
Thank you for your review following your stay with us.

I appreciate your comments regarding the room and facilities and of course the eggs benedict! The Superior Ocean View rooms on the third floor certainly have a wonderful view of the marina and bay as you have noted.
Please note the pool has been emptied in readiness for painting then to be refilled in late October and ready for use in November.

I have spoken to the staff regarding both the positive and negative comments and appreciate that we can always improve.

Thank you again for you review and we look forward to welcoming you back to Park Regis Picton soon.

Best Regards

Arrived on Sunday afternoon and male at reception appeared to be disinterested and unhelpful. Although we had booked previously using our credit card he wanted to further imprint to cover the accommodation. We had booked a Superior Room which was on the 3rd floor and directed to very small lift at the end of one of the accommodation passages. Room was a good size with Queen bed and nicely fitted out bathroom. Good view down Queen Charlotte Sound and of the Ferries coming in and out of the port. TV channels very limited and consideration to improving this would enhance the experience while staying there. Electric blankets on bed would be a benefit in the cooler months although there was a good heater. When checking out, the girl at reception was efficient and courteous which made one feel more welcome. The accommodation gave me the feeling of being in an apartment although there were no cooking facilities in the room. The initial impression on arrival was not great and have been happier with other accommodation I have stayed in, previously, in Picton

Dear palmykop

Thank you for your review following your stay with us.
Firstly I would like to apologise for the inattentive welcome you received. I have spoken with the person concerned to ensure our usual standard of welcome is given.

Our Superior Ocean View rooms are larger than normal hotel rooms and they certainly command some great views as you have indicated.

It was pleasing to read that when checking out the receptionlst was efficient and courteous along with being welcoming. In regards to the imprint on check-in this is a preauthorisation that is required by all international and most local hotel groups and the actual card is required for this.

Thank you again for your comments and we look forward to welcoming you again,

Best Regards
