“Wounderful stay in Picton”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2014

I & my wife had travelled up the south island and were catching the ferry to Wellington & decided to stay in Picton instead of Blenheim. We booked at Fernview cottage instead of one of the many motels/hotels and what a good decision that was.Hidden way, very quiet, but within walking distance from town, we had a wonderful evening. We had the enormous front room, huge bed and bathroom on suite. Our hosts, Greg & Carlie, were friendly & helpful, and the continental breakfast was all we needed before we caught the ferry. Will go back again.

This 1895 Victorian cottage has been restored with great attention to detail and to very high standard. The downstairs front room we had was beautifully decorated and the bath is large and well appointed (a great shower). Our ferry from Wellington arrived late, but Greg arranged for us to be picked up at the terminal. The next day, he volunteered to deliver our bags to the train station. The communal breakfast was very good. It is an easy walk to the center of town. We could not recommend it more highly.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Fernview; ideally located in a quiet and scenic location but just a short walk to town . Also a good place to start from to do the various walks around Picton, which we did on the days prior to and after our QCT walk with Natural encounters.
Great bed, charming house and hosts and delicious breakfasts all made our stay memorable.
Also, Greg and Carlie were very helpful in organising little extras for us such as transfer to Picton Airport - nothing was too much trouble.
Thanks very much!

Had the pleasure of staying at this b & b before and after Queen Charlotte walk with Natural Encounters. Great accommodation in lovely quiet area of town. Good to read the history of the house as well. hot showers, comfortable bed and good food as well as friendly owners and staff. Great size room and luxury bathroom with comfortable lounge area with tea and coffee making facilities available. Our rating 5 stars. No hesitancy in recommending this delightful B and B to others. Cherie and David

Room Tip: We had the room at the front of the cottage

We visited Picton on our honeymoon and were warmly welcomed by Greg and Carly with a bottle of local wine on arrival. The downstairs bedroom is beautifully furnished with large comfy bed, and generous ensuite. My wife loved taking a bath in the free standing tub. Immaculate room, friendly hosts, great B&B.

This is a small and charming B and B on the outskirts of Picton. Our spacious room was on the first floor, across from the sitting/dining room -- and the newly re-furbished bathroom sported a wonderful tub. The bed was comfortable. This was a very nice spot in which to spend our one night in Picton.
