“Well appointed room and handy for centre”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2012

Our room (room on second floor with spa bath and separate living/dining room) was well appointed and even though it looked out over the railway line the trains didn't disturb us at all. Supermarket just across the road for groceries and only a 10/15 minute walk to the town centre. Shame there is not free internet. Staff made us very welcome.

Millimad - thank you for your feedback and it’s great to hear that you appreciated our central location and well-appointed rooms.
Just to clarify a couple of points you made, the 10-15 minutes to the centre of town is a very leisurely stroll, as it is only 400 meters (437 yards). Regarding the Free internet – Yes we do have free internet available in the office for our guests all year round, as well we do provide free Wifi in the off season.
Thank you again for taking the time to review our business and staying at the Broadway Motel. We look forward to seeing you again in the future.

Parking a little tighter . We were in an executive king studio. Soudns better than is but a good size room with a living room open concept. Lots of Windows but most looiked out to a cement wall that ran around property.
Great shower and bathroom. great kitchen area.

We never foudn the food amaxzing in New Zealand or Australia but it was adequate but lacked a lot of taste. Lots of fried.

Jackie, thank you for the feedback about our Motel. It is really pleasing that you enjoyed our central location, great showers, bathroom and kitchen area.
I am unsure what you mean regarding "a cement wall that ran around the property". We do have a 1.8 meter painted concrete fence on one boundary of our property which goes past just one unit. The reason it is there is to provide privacy & security to the guests that are in this room. The only other concrete wall we have is a one meter high painted wall on one side of the courtyard, which is there to prevents people from falling four meters down to the road below. All the other boundaries have normal fencing so if you require further clarification, then please contact me on +64 3 573 6563
Jackie, Thank you again for the feedback and recommendation and we look forward to seeing you again in the near future.

We stayed at Broadway motel over queens birthday weekend (2-4th June 2012). It was within walking distance to the interislander ferry terminal, shops and restaurants. Top notch service (right from when we rang and booked). The motel was very modern, quiet (due to double glazing) and welcoming. Great price for what we got. We would choose this over any other motel in Picton. Thanks team!

Room Tip: We had a king executive suite on the top level, awesome, with own balcony off bedroom area.

Considerate hosts, modern and spotlessly clean, and they made up a cot for our 16 month old daughter as well as supplying a high chair. Perfect!

5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2012

Stayed at Broadway Hotel for 2 nights whilst on business trip around top of South Island. Having arrived late in the evening we appreciated the thoughtfullness of the owners turning the heatpump on earlier so we were welcomed by a cozy warm room on a chilly night.
The unit was a good size with a double bed and electric blanket, lounge suite , flatscreen tv , kitchenette, fridge and dining table. The bathroom was clean and user friendly with the biggest shower unit I have ever seen. Clean towels , shampoo and soap were in ample supply.
The hotel is directly across the road from a supermarket and ATM. Handy if you feel like a bottle of wine before you wander down to the various restaurants nearby.
Efficently run with pleasant staff. Recommended.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2012 via mobile

We spent only one night in Picton, having arrived on the afternoon ferry. We were very impressed with our room - it was huge, with an extra large bed and separate sitting area with sofa and large TV. There was the usual small kitchenette and small dining table inside plus outside tables on the balcony (facing west) and by the entrance (facing east). However I couldn't really imagine using either, as the west-facing balcony overlooked a busy road and the other one was by the car park.
The hotel is located at the opposite end of the High Street from the harbour. Our room was quiet, despite overlooking Highway 1, the main north-south road. Traffic is limited apart from at the ferry times. The train line also passes nearby and some reviewers have noted this. My husband heard the train but I did not, although I'm usually a light sleeper. Again, there are only trains to meet the ferry.
Overall, this is a very good choice unless you want a harbour view - there are plenty of places nearer the harbour.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2012

During our recent family holiday to New Zealand, we stayed at the Broadway Motel. We were very pleased with the room and the service. The motel is conveniently located and within easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. It is also very convenient in terms of distance to the Picton/Wellington ferry. It was less than a 5 minute drive to the terminal.

The room was spacious, comfortable, clean and quiet. We will most definitely stay again on our next visit.
