“A real must do; don't miss out on this one!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013

We were lucky to be on the trip when the Queen Mary 2 was in the harbour so Ray made sure that we had a good sail and look around her before seeing the shag colony. We were escorted by about 10 Hectors dolphins and we sailed so that they could play too. Although we had 10 on board it did not feel crowded and everyone got a chance to helm if they wanted to. Ray was a mine of information and managed to farewell all 10 of us by name by the end of the cruise.

“Fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2013

What an experience! Ray was very accomodating and helpful with our questions and we enjoyed his great sense of humour and story telling. He has a wonderful knowledge of the harbour and allowed us each to take the helm and enjoy the freedom of sailing. The yacht was well maintained and we were given the freedom of moving wherever we wanted to. This was our first experience of sailing and we can thoroughly recommend it. His secret method to fix sea sickness (Bundaberg Ginger Beer) really works!

“Highly recommended”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2013 via mobile

We visited Akaroa recently on the rainiest day they had for some time! As there were only two of us intending to sail, we hopped on board and had a chat with Ray about our options. As it was so wet and no wind, we decided it wasn 't worth going out but had a good look over Ray 's beautiful boat, chatted about her history and he very kindly offered to refund us. As two keen sailors we had wanted to go out, but will be back another time and will go out with Ray again. Great bloke, lovely boat and highly recommended!

“Don't miss out on this!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

We had a wonderful afternoon with Ray! He had many stories to tell about the area and he showed us dolphins, a shag colony and big groups of kril. We (my girlfriend and me) were very lucky by beiing the only ones on board of the ship. Still Ray decided to head out and make the best of it. It was an experience not to miss! He always takes small groups (6 to max. 8) and on his almost 15 meter yacht you still have plenty space. As you can see from the other reviews it is really true!

All the best Ray and thanks for having us on board!

“Great way to see the dolphins”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

If you want a trip from Akaroa to see the dolphins and learn about the area this is the trip to take. Small group with a very knowledgable captain who clearly loves the area and loves sharing this with his crew. We saw more dolphins than I expected and they followed and swam around the boat. A very enjoyable and great experience, I can't recommend it enough.
