“highly recommended to enjoy Akaroa and its beauties!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2014

We stayed in February in this lovely B&B with an amazing and peaceful view to the Takamatua Bay.

Jane spoilt us with her delicious homelette and very clean and comfortable double room. And of course I can't not mention the sweetness of Rosie asking for some cuddles from under the dining room table! :)

Thank you very much Jane!

Beatrice and Marc

Akaroa and L'Abri B&B were recommended to us as stopover before we head on Christchurch Airport the next day. My husband and I adored the little cottage where we stayed, separate from the house.
Jane, our host, a sweet and gentle lady; very friendly, and she cooked such awesome breakfast was apologetic that the main house was full, but my husband loved the little cottage where we stayed. We went up for breakfast the next morning and enjoyed a magnificent view of the bay.
It was one of the most memorable visit for my husband and I as we met two other wonderful couple staying at L'Abri. One from the US, another from Canada and my husband and I, from Malaysia. Poor Jane had to wait for a long time to clean up the breakfast table till, we reluctantly, leave for the airport. Short but indeed, very sweet stay at L'Abri. Thank you, Jane.

Room Tip: The main house had awesome view of the bay, but the little cottage lower down had better privacy and...

This was the first stop on the South Island leg of our honeymoon and we were very touched by the welcome with our names on the chalkboard. Very picturesque with hens wandering around the driveway on arrival too! Jane is warm, friendly and engaging and a very welcoming host giving us a thorough tour. My husband is a real cat lover and was delighted to make two new feline friends also. Could not recommend this place more highly and we very much hope to come back again. The food was unbelievable and we loved the home baking left in our room. Thanks jane!!!

We stayed here at the end of our 4 week travels in New Zealand. Jane is a warm and welcoming host who does everything she can to make your stay special. The bedrooms are comfortable, beautifully furnished and both have great views over the harbour. The breakfasts are delicious using eggs from her own hens. Expresso coffee is on offer from the kitchen at any time with tea, coffee homemade biscuits in the rooms. Everything from decor to service is of a high standard with the relaxed atmosphere of staying in someones home. A perfect way to end our holiday.

We recently spent 2 nights in L'abri after 2 very active weeks in the South Island. It was the perfect end to our holiday- calm & peaceful, bright & airy. The room was spotlessly clean & Jane very welcoming. The views & touches outstanding, the breakfast fresh & delicious made with free range eggs from Jane's chooks, fresh herbs & quality local produce. We highly recommend this B'nB if you need some comfort & quiet in a garden setting with excellent coastal views.

Room Tip: We stayed in the room facing the bay, with it's own verandah & outside furniture which we en...

We stayed in the seperate cottage at L'Abri and it was a perfect place to base ourselves and explore the Banks Peninsula. Jane was very welcoming and communicative. Large kitchen and bathroom so self catering was a good option

I had the privilege of staying at L'Abri. It was wonderful. Unforgettable. The view is breathtaking, the accommodations are top-notch. Quality and elegance. The breakfast is amazing, everything done on time, especially the croissants, simply divine. Ms. Jane is an excellent host, very professional and hospitable. Ah! The Gardens, cats and chickens complement the peaceful atmosphere of the place. Note 1000 for L'Abri. Nivaldo and Gabriela. Florianópolis, Brazil.

Room Tip: Todas as suítes são divinas.
