“Food good, but pricy and service poor”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2014

We went there because the rating was promising. The food looked great, the taste was good, but nothing special. The dessert (black and white chocolate mousse) on the black board sounded nice, but when we got it it was a bit disappointing. One brown mousse in one glass... The service was poor. We felt that they are in a rush and wanted to get the table free. We spilled water on our table before the dessert and they noticed but did not care. We expected to get at least a tissue... Because of the price and the poor service we rate it as average.

“Bon appetit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2014 via mobile

Dinner for 4 at this lovely little place in Akaroa that richly deserves it's top TA rating. The scallop starter with black pudding a highlight, and desserts huge and yummy. Wish we could say we'd be back...

“Absolute gem in the heart of Akaroa”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2014

Yum, yum, yum. Had a meal for 4 at this restaurant and it wowed me. Firstly the venue is gorgeous, very small and intimate in an old French building. The service was perfection, attentive but not overbearing and responsive to my sisters gluten needs. The wine list was extensive, local and well matched with the food which was also excellent. Go, you wont regret it.

“Tres Bon”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2014

We had lunch here, on a miserable, rainy day in Akaroa. The place is very small & intimate. The food was delicious, the best we had on our south island sojourn.
I had the broad bean, pea & asparagas risotto, which was just sublime! My husband the sea food chowder, which was so different from what we have had, filled with veges & seafood & gorgeous flavours. We both had a rose wine, which is hard to find by the glass, at many establishments & again a very nice drop.
The portions are not overly generous, just right, by us & at the higher end in price, but for us well worth the money.

“very small place but big heart and great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2014

the owners celebrated their 4th anniversary on December 27th and they are still going strong. The scallops in bacon as a starter were excellent and so was the mains. We were too full to add desert
