“A home away from home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

We stayed for two nights and absolutely loved our stay here. Rosemary instantly made us feel at home and welcome, and was a wealth of knowledge about the local area. Breakfast was simple but delicious including homemade goodies such as cooked rhubarb. Central location with only a 5-10 minute walk into town. Clean bright rooms which share a bathroom.

We have just stayed 2 nights at this b and b. Rosemary was a charming and lovely host full of ideas and info for us.
The bedrooms are well equipped and share bathroom fine for this reasonable price. Breakfast was simple and delicious and you can help yourself to tea coffee anytime. The verandah is a highlight for sipping a nice wine or a cuppa, with a stunning view and relaxed ambience. It's a lovely walk into the gorgeous town. We highly recommend this very well priced and homely b and b.

Room Tip: The first bedroom has 2 windows with fab views.

What a lovely experience to stay there. Rosemary was so friendly and helpful, such a lovely lady. Room was nice, and clean and a very comfortable bed. To see the sunrise in the morning from our bed was magnificient.
Good breakfast and only a 5 minute walk into town.
An old house, full of character, open wood fire, lovely garden, Lovely verandah to sit out and enjoy the warm sun, with a glass of wine or a cup of coffee, reading a book, just lovely.
We did have doubts about the shared bathroom, but we were the only guests so it did not matter. We found out that usually it is only one couple who stays or a family, so the shared bathroom is not a problem.
Will certainly stay there agian and recommend this place to all our friends and family.

I had the pleasure of staying with Rosemary at her B & B "Room with a View" for my last two nights in beautiful Akaroa. Her company is a delight and her accomodation is superb. Day and night a log fire warms the home and I slept in the most comfortable bed you could desire. The breakfast is amazing and offers a selection of fresh home grown fruits and interesting fresh healthy choices. Thank you Rosemary.

Room Tip: Either of the large colionel rooms is delightful with great views,

We stayed here for 1 night and if we knew, we had booked a night more.
Rosemary is such a lovely lady !!!
The room is large and the bed was perfect, we had a very good night sleep.
The breakfast was wonderfull, everything is put in pretty little pots and bowls. Rosemary does her very best to please you. But more than that she is a lady with a golden heart and therefore we can recommend this place to everyone that want to stay at Akaroa.
The house itselfs is one of the oldest houses in Akaroa and it is kept wonderful !
You have a magnificent view over the sea. The harbour is a 5 minute walk, so you can easily walk towards it. Rosemary, we hope to see you once again ! We will never forget you.
Warm hugs from Barbara & Toon - Belgium

This is a lovely house with a beautiful garden and good view over the harbour, Sitting on the verandah with a glass of wine in a delight.Rosemary is a delightful lady and I suspect rather shrewd who charms her guests and provides a great breakfast. Only downsides were that we are generally not keen on shared bathrooms and there is no internet access. Otherwise a great place to stay

Arrived in Akaroa Mon 9th January after a long flight, Rosemary was not in but left a lovely message on the door let yourself in and make yourself at home. Our rooms had our names on them so we could unpack after about 45 minutes Rosemary arrived a lovely lady who made our stay a true joy, Nothing was to much trouble for Rosemary she was on hand if you needed anything, but also gave you plenty of privacy. I will always remember chilling on the veranda looking over the bay and at Rosemary's beautiful garden. I would just like to say Rosemary you are a lovely, lovely lady and made Marie, Jim, Jill and myself's stay one we all will truly remember. If you would like a warm relaxing great value for money accommodation this is the place for you.
