The location is ideal and family with kids will enjoy the atmosphere and the food is just yummy. It's also our favourite weekend dining out place

“Great seafood, great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2013

Recently ate at this establishment on the wharf at Fremantle. Being such a lovely night we decided to eat outside which was an excellent choice.

You order from inside the café and it is a little confusing as you seem to order different things from different areas.

We opted for a portion of prawn cocktail and one of pickled octopus. Both were fresh and very tasty and reasonably priced. We opted for a grilled seafood meal which was very good but was a little pricey at $28.50 for a café meal that you order and collect yourself. The dish contained a fish shaslick, grilled octopus, grilled scallops and a salad. It was a good size meal.

Wine, beer and soft drinks are available from either the bar or the counter (for soft drinks).

Overall a good meal with good fresh seafood and a great location.

“Beautiful fish platter.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2013 via mobile

Recommended by locals who we met in Pemberton. All fish fresh as can be. Special mention to scallops. Soft, tasty and luscious. But everything superb.
By Fremantle sea-front places it was also good value.
Mr Kailis - you should twin yourself with Magpie in Whitby, England.

“Fish and Chips in Frementle”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2013

Frementle is famous for her fish and chips restaurants. One of the best is Kailis. You get to choose from a wide variety of seafood there - both hot and cold. But be careful if you choose to sit outside the restaurant as seagulls will approach and sometimes fight for your food!

“Improved”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2013 via mobile

We have been visiting Kailis's for many years and have in the past usually been mildly disappointed. The seafood is usually very fresh but is commonly poorly cooked and tasteless and the chips soggy. That we keep coming back says something about the food options in Perth. However, we were pleasantly surprised during our last visit. Fish in the seafood delight nicely battered and crunchy and chips crisp and tasty. Shame about the cold tasteless salad and thimble-sized, overpriced wine glasses.
