“All you need is some good company!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2014

This is a popular vibrant place for dinner in the heart if a Freo. The service is fantastic and the food is traditionally Italian and quite delicious. Even better is it's BYO, which is no problem as a bottle shop is directly across the road.
The ambiance is terrific and food plentiful. I've been there 4 times now and will continue to return. Quite a step above most others in the area, especially if you like Italian.

“Best Italian in Freo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2014

So many "Italian" restaurants in Freo over the years have been poor imitators of Gino's (which itself is a poor imitation of its former self these days) basically photocopying each others menu and turning out rubbish. I have not lived in freo for many years but I tried La Sosta on a visit after it was recommended. I was not dissapointed, and the menu was a breath of fresh air with a great innovate menu of regional Italian fare. Four out of five of us had the goat which was fantastic. One had the pasta (with duck ragu I think?) which was also very good.
BYO wine only which we came prepared with our own (WA has archaic Methodist liquor licensing laws).
Will definately go again and La Sosta's high rating on Trip Advisor is well deserved

“A freo find”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2014

taken to La Sosta by a friend. Restaurant recently opened. It was lunch so expectations were not high. License had not come thru so we went across the road. On return things got better.
Service could not be faulted. Foodwise it passed all expectations. From the prawns to the lamb it was great. This restaurant is about to shake up freo. Once the liquor problem is solved the restaurant will do extremely well if the standards are maintained.

“Bring vino!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2014

I dined here last night based on TA ratings and reviews and was not dissapointed. We sat at a table on the sidewalk which made for an excellent setting for a very nice meal. The restaurant does not have a liquor license (yet), but there is a shop across the street that sells some nice wines. I really enjoyed the stuffed mussels and the squid ink pasta; the latter being dark and spicy. Very unique. Great spot, good service, high quality but a bit pricey. Reccommended.

“Italian with a slightly exotic menu”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2014

Diners rate La Sosta as one of the best restaurants in Fremantle, and it probably deserves to be ranked highly. The tables have tablecloths. The waiters are pleasant and alert, and they hustle. The prices are reasonable.

La Sosta does not have a license to sell alcoholic beverages, but there is a bottle shop directly across the street.

La Sosta's menu does not include many of the pasta dishes one normally finds in an Italian restaurant, and it does include quite a few dishes that are unusual. This is a mixed blessing. You will not find the linguine marinara for which you are longing; you will find something you have never eaten before. One of us loved her meal; one of us hated his.
