“Good for mainly food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2014

Just a cluster of stalls selling mainly food from cupcakes to jars of honey and chocolate bananas (and strawberries, marshmellows.. you get the idea). Peppered with souvenir stalls and real market stalls selling fresh fruits.

“A great way to spend a Sunday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2014

I would have to agree with a few other reviewers, the markets have lost some of their original charm. However, that does not mean that they are any less fun - just different. The fresh produce is always way cheaper than Coles or Woolies and the food stalls ranging from paella to crepes are certain to please a variety of taste buds. Despite changes in more commercial vendors, you can still stumble upon a few gems. In addition, the endless supply of buskers are great free entertainment for all ages. The only real drawback is the large crowds which can make it difficult to maneuver at times.

Go on sunday to this market to experience the local ambient and a lot of shops. You can find everything in this crowded market without losing their charming.

“It's like the Prahran Mkt in Melbourne”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2014

Really liked this market because it's like the Prahran Mkt in Melbourne except it doesn't have seafood and meat section.
It is located in the shopping district of Fremantle and lots of restaurants and coffee shops.
It is also walking distance from the esplanade or the harbour.
Just outside the market, there is this Asian food court which has a lot of Asian varieties.
Foods are great and very cheap as well.

“Lost Much Of Its Old Charm”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2013

My family visited the Fremantle Markets located at the corner of South Terrace and Henderson Street in Dec 2013.

Fremantle Markets is a weekend market operating from Friday to Sunday and has more than a 100 stalls selling a good mix of products ranging from fruits & vegetable, fast foods, popcorns, nuts, cakes, handicrafts & small gifts etc. It used to be a very vibrant market selling Iconic Australian Products like Sheep Skin Rugs, Kangaroo Skins, Cowhides and Clothing etc. These Iconic Australian Products were very unique to the Fremantle Markets and was the main attractions to foreign visitors like myself but it’s a pity they are no longer operating at the market.

Fremantle Markets has lost much of its old Charm and is no longer the market that it used to be.
