This property has only a few rooms on three floors and is right next to the ocean. It is a few minutes walk from the cafes of South Fremantle and from the lively Fremantle town centre. The property works like a cross between boutique hotel and B&B. Because it is small, the owners provide friendly and attentive service and advice.
The rooms are large, as are the bathrooms, and all have balconies and views towards the ocean. The rooms have very comfortable beds and pillows and are well furnished, although no in-room telephone. That is compensated with free and relatively fast wifi.
The property is very clean and the plush downstairs sitting room and breakfast room are spacious and spotless. Guests get a key and can let themselves in an out, and a small lift/elevator serves the bedrooms.
The breakfast is very substantial, and with considerable variety. There is no hot food. Those craving ham and eggs can find plenty of cafes nearby.
The ground floor and staircase are spectacular, and the space the flows up 3-4 floors makes this an exciting bit of architecture. At the same time, this big space can mean that rowdy fellow guests can be heard in the rooms.
Noise between the rooms might be an issue, but this seems mainly due to noisy water pipes. That said, I slept well, and my colleague in the next room said she didn't hear me or my television.
I would be happy to recommend this property to friends, family and colleagues. I think this is one of the best places I have stayed for a while, and in Fremantle, it is the easily the best available in a limited market. I'd certainly return to this property again.
The third floor has the best views.
