First time at the Left Bank for lunch and not too impressed. We opted for upstairs which the staff said was the fine dining option.
View over the Swan was lovely and the staff were great - pleasant, friendly and timely with drink and food orders.
We started wuth a sharing plate of chorizo, feta and turkish bread ($14). It was fine with mild chorizo, semi-liquid feta and good Turkish bread but it was more a plate for one rather than two people.
I opted for a main dish of coconut prawns with cucumber and peanut salad ($32) while my husband ordered the lemon pepper calamari which came with chips and salad ($24).
The prawns were okay but the coconut batter was well overcooked and not pleasant. The salad was good.
My husband's calamari was average.
We had two glasses of wine ($22) as well.
An average meal in an above average setting.
The Left Bank cafe downstairs looked much more interesting, vibrant and busy with a bigger menu.
