“ugh!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2013

The bar area was dirty, there was no atmosphere in the place at all. We were served by the 'manager' he was rude no manners and threw our change on the bar, we have hands!!! The customer service throughout Perth/Fremantle is very high, not here.

We stayed here because our first 2 choices were full. The frontage is really attractive and as a pub it is OK. However the room was very poor and in need of decoration with chipped paint on the skirting board.. The furnishing was basic with no air con and no fridge. It was not ensuite with 2 bathrooms shared by 3 bedrooms. It was very noisy with music from the pub until very late which we had not been warned about on check in. The pub food was OK, no more. The overall impression was of accommodation in general decline.

Visited the pub again after a couple of years gap and everything was as it was before.
A real pub atmosphere and alsmost the same layout as before, giving lots of space for smallish tables throughout the bar and adjoining rooms. Meals are still great value for money, and very good quality. The range of beers and spirits on offer is great too.
Ali in all, a pleasant waqy to spend lunch-time in Freo.

Room Tip: Can't help with that, as we only used the pub!

I really really wanted to like it, given I spent a lot of time in Rosie O'Grady's pub when I was younger. My friend and I decided to rehash those memories and book a room at Rosie's for New Years Eve. The room itself was ok, bed had seen better days. The shared bathroom was clean and adequate.

Unfortunately the Perth summer has been relentless (or normal??) and the hotel and pub was an absolute furnace. Our standard room had no airconditioning (not sure if other rooms do), only a ceiling fan which circulated the hot air. We had to keep the window open to let what little cool air there was in, but given it was NYE there was lots of noise around well after the pub closed. We were absolutely roasting and at 8am decided to drive home bleary eyed and attempt some much needed sleep.

I don't know if this is a heritage listed building and can't have air con installed, but would be great if they at least looked into individual units. Given we have hot weather so much here, it would be an investment, I couldn't imagine being a traveller and staying here for any extended period during summer. In hindsight I wish I had forked out the extra dosh and spent the night at the Esplanade.

Room Tip: Not one facing the pub courtyard.

This was first time to Perth and had two days to kill before a friend turned up to meet me, so thought I'd stay in Fremantle as it sounded like a pretty cool place, which it certainly is. Not sure why, but accommodation was pretty scarce, even in backpackers, but managed to score a room here at Rosie's. the website doesn't give too much away about the quality or size of the rooms, but when I got there they were well below my expectation. The rooms was musty, smelt like it had been a smoking room the week before, the bed mattress very cheap and the noise from the pub downstairs, even tho I was two floors above was really annoying! As a last resort I'd stay here again, but I think even a single room in a back packers would exceed the experience I had here.

Booked in for Friday night as was walking distance to a wedding we were attending. Stayed in deluxe room. The ensuite and air conditioning made it deluxe. The room was on the second floor with 4 lots of steps for access, didn't see any other means of access. The ensuite was small, ie the door hit the toilet when opened but it was clean. Got home at midnight, the bar was rocking with live music but it was quiet enough in the room. No car parking provided but could be accessed a short walk at $1.60 an hour (no overnight rate). It cost us $30 for the night. Close to the Freo markets.

Room Tip: Room 12 was next to the shared kitchen which is accessed by others, bit noisy first thing in the mor...

I really enjoyed my stay at Rosie's. The staff were friendly and helpful. The Hotel does not serve breakfast but there is a communual kitchen with toaster and microwave. And there are plenty of cafes nearby to choose from. the rooms at the front of the Hotel are near to the town hall which has a clock that chimes on the hour so if you are a light sleeper you may be woken by this.Otherwise good value
