i have stayed here twice, back to back summers. the staff is amazing. they helped me with every part of my journey. the rooms are nice and quaint.

the best part is the sound of Staubbach Falls from your balcony. it cannot be beat.

if i go back. i know where i am staying.

This is a very simple yet one of the best hotels I've stayed at. Angie, the manager, was extremely helpful for us and went above and beyond to ensure we had a pleasant stay. She greeted us every morning and evening, went out of her way to get all our questions answered about the town and surrounding areas, and even gave us a bottle of wine as a Christmas gift since we stayed there over Christmas too. Breakfast was superb and the atmosphere was great. Highly recommended for your trip up the Alps - Lauterbrunnen is located very conveniently at the base of Jungfrau region.

We traveled to Lauterbrunnen in July 2012 with our son, 15, and daughter, 12. We had to reserve two rooms to get enough space, which was the only drawback. I think they had some bigger rooms, so reserve early if you want one.
Every staff person we met was very friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English. They had great suggestions on where to eat and what to do. The location was perfect and the views were spectacular. Breakfast was delicious and had plenty of variety and yumminess (according to my daughter). They offered some American food as well as typical European fare.
We especially liked the little hike up behind the Staubbach waterfall for a quick outing. Although the weather was cool and rainy, we still went up to Jungfraujoch and had some good top views. The Swiss rail 1/2 pass was a good deal for our tickets. We also went to the Trummelbachfalle the morning before we left and enjoyed that.

With only two hotels open when we were in Lauterbrunnen (end of season), we settled on Hotel Staubbach. The staff made it great. They were not only professional, but sincerely friendly. The manager even came out to help me scrape ice off my car! The staff managing breakfast were great as well, always making sure everything was fresh and that the guests were satisfied.
Another room had a screaming baby one night (all night) that could be heard throughout the floor, and the next morning the staff pleasantly moved us to another floor upon request without any hassle. It isn't a 4-star, so don't expect lavish comforts, but it did provide a comfortable stay.

Room Tip: We stayed in two different rooms. One was with a view of the falls, but the room design was dated...

I got this hotel from the web. the reviews are good and i like the way they describe themself.
It is very honest to sate that it is 2 star hotel, so don't expect 5 star amenities.
in fact the hotel is not bad at all. the room and facility is a bit old, but interesting. the room is big enough for 2 star, with hot water and basic amenities. breakfast is quite good and the staff must get applause for the friendliness. i can see that the staff is very hardworking and still friendly. that's the plus point.
The location is just s short walk to Staubbach waterfall and we can enjoy the waterfall from the balcony. there is a public balcony for guest for viewing.
btw, this hoel do not serve dinner, so we have our dinner in the restaurant near the waterfall, which is quite good.

Room Tip: try the one with Staubbach waterfalls view

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Staubbach for 6 nights at the end of September in a beautiful corner room with a balcony facing the Staubbach Falls. The beds and bath were terrific, and the whole room had such a cheery feel with all the natural light. The breakfast buffet was amazing, with the best bacon we had on our entire trip, and is served in a room with huge windows looking out to the valley and falls. The staff is ourstandingly helpful and friendly!! Lauterbrunnen is a good base for exploring the valley and all the surrounding high villages. We prefer this hotel's location towards the far end of the village because of the view and the quiet.

Hotel Staubbach is close to our favorite restaurant which is in the campground just a 10-minute walk towards the valley. The food is good, the portions are generous, they give you a pitcher of water for your table (a rarity in Europe) and the prices are reasonable.

Room Tip: Try for a corner room facing the valley.

Our stay in Lauterbrunnen was a nice start to the holiday. The receptionist was friendly and helpful and the double room (twin beds) was a decent size. It was on the south side so we could see the Staubbachfalle and the church from the little balcony. The only noise at night was from a couple of people having a drink and a laugh at Hotel Horner (not bad and only until around 11) and the church bell which goes around the clock but it's not as bad as it sounds - I need quiet to sleep and it was fine. Breakfast is very good and the room has big windows to take in the view. There is another room where you can get tea/coffee/water. Free Wi-Fi.
