I happened upon Tavira Inn more or less by chance by virtue of fairly ad-hoc web-surfing when looking for a congenial place to stay in Tavira.
A couple of people had described it and the webpage of the Inn itself looked inviting, esp. the idea / pics of the Jazz - Bar (not that I am that keen on jazz tel quel to be honest) and the Ernesto-Cardenal (revolutionary pro-Sandinista Nicaraguan priest-poet) look-alike character which is the proprietor Sebasti~ao......
So it proved: Sebastia~o is a mix of congenial - but also - capable - of - leaving -you -alone kind of thing if you don't care to be forced into sociability. The room was spotlessly clean, cool, artistic-inspired decorated. There is a super-looking pool, though the weather was a bit less warm than I like in May for actually taking a dip -but it's nice to know you can; and the location is just 10 mins on foot from the centre of town.
Sebastia~o is very helpful in terms of local knowledge re restaurants / boats to Tavira Island / trains and so on and on. did I mention it is only Euros55 a night ? (minus a discount even if you stay 5 nights as I did).......
My only slight reservation in making this recommendation is that it runs the risk that when I seek to go back it's more likely the place will be full, esp as there are only 5 rooms........ But I am quick to complain when things go awry so in fairness I should direct praise when praise is due............
