I would like to entirely echo the comments of the last reviewer. This really is of 5-star quality in every respect. Me and my partner have traveled widely and this is one of our most treasured vacation experiences, and we consider this a lucky find which we fully intent to go back to. The previous reviewer also mentioned boutique quality b+b and we had mentioned our feelings about this over breakfast with the owners Nicole and Kathleen during our visit.

We stayed from 11th -18th August 2012. The accomodation is absolutely first rate, a newly built architect-designed cool modern minimalist style in a rural location between Faro and Tavira, a perfect distance from the road and set well within its own spacious surrondings which gives a great feeling of open space, with expansive views all around. We stayed in Olivera room which had its own very large terrace, which was ideal for times when we wanted a little bit of privacy. Most of the other 4 rooms I also believe had balconies. The pool area was large and spacious with many different types of plants and trees around. The pool was a very good size and it was always difficult to leave for a days sight-seeing, especially after the really wonderful breakfasts, consisting of a selection of cold meat, cheese, fruit, bread, smoked salmon,eggs cooked any which way you liked, jams and a different home-cooked 'treat' each day ( for example french-toast, lemon tart, cheesecake...) which we had outside on a large table and enjoyed meeting and chatting with the other guests. Nicole and Kathleen were so friendly and really great hosts and we really enjoyed it when they chatted with us and joined us at the end of breakfast. One night we had a 3-course meal with the other guests which was very good value and delicious.

Nicole and Kathleen really did everything to make our stay special, providing always good advice on great beaches, restaurants and places to visit, including finding all the BBC channels for the Olympics! They clearly love what they do and this added to our enjoyment! It was a very stress-free holiday for us with everything taken care of.

Cas al Cubo is well located for some easy trips to visit local attractions, wonderful beaches around Tavira, The old Town of Faro, Castle Marim, Milreu and the local nature reserve Rio Formosa ( we even saw a chameleon there!) to name a few. It is also a very easy and short drive from Faro airport.

I never normally get round to writing reviews I am somewhat ashamed to say! but for Cas al Cubo I am very happy to have made the effort!
