This retreat center is similar to a very basic/rustic summer camp experience.
Located 10 km from Tavira at the end of a dirt road there is a large main building with multiple rooms.
The main building contains about a dozen bedrooms. A few of the bedrooms have private baths and the others share. A nice breeze keeps the temperature tolerable but beware of the slamming doors when the wind catches them. No airco.
Behind the center a steep hill leads down into a “valley”. Accommodations include cute two-mattress cabins scattered over a large area and linked by dirt paths,a yurt and two teepees.
A trip to town by taxi will cost you 30 euros round trip weekdays and closer to 40 euros nights and weekends.
My stay was three weeks with a group of 28 studying yoga.
A few things to consider:
*Proximity to area activities, you would require a rental car or a taxi budget
*No locks on the doors
*One towel and one sheet change per week.
*Lack of mosquito nets for large group.
*Limited laundry facilities. We were asked to wash our clothes in the sinks and hang them to dry on clothesline.
