“Fabylous view, beautifull hotel !!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2014

The view of the castle of monemvasia was spectacular. At the beachfront yard you could stay and enjoy a nice meal or a cool drink above the sea. The rooms were clean and the breakfast homemade from Mrs Helen (value for money). I will surely go again with my family !!

Chanced on this lovely modern family-run hotel in a quiet seaside spot, just a few miles from busy overpriced Monemvasia. What a lucky find! The room had all we need (en-suite, fridge, heater/air-con, TV), as well as a balcony with seats and a view over the bay to the rock and fortress of Monemvasia. A substantial breakfast was included (orange juice, coffee, scrambled eggs on toast, Nutella pancakes, more toast with butter, jam and honey), lovingly prepared even though we were the only guests!
Dinner in the restaurant was another nice surprise, with plenty of choice, beautifully cooked and served, and a dessert 'on the house'. The off-season price was excellent value and we hope to return for longer next time!

Room Tip: Rooms with balcony overlooking the sea have a wonderful view of Monemvasia fortress.

Have stayed at this wonderful hotel a number of times & have always enjoyed our time there. Nicos, his parents and brother provide an excellent welcome and ensure that your stay is as hassle-free as possible. While the rooms are basic, they are kept clean and offer a superb view across the bay to the rock of Monemvasia (ask for a room on the seafront). Air conditioning & tv included.
Swimming pool (sea water treated so no chlorine used) are has lots of loungers to relax on. Sea is accessible via a pontoon owned by the hotel. Snorkelling is de-rigueur with lots of sealife to observe (including turtles if you're lucky) along with artefacts from the ancient town.
A small port is close by for further adventures. Showers are located by the pool to rinse off before aperitif on the terrace!
Restaurant provides excellent honest fresh food & you can discuss any special requests with Nicos. We have never been disappointed.
The hotel is very calm and provides a very relaxing time for foreigners and Greeks alike. Can't wait to visit again next summer!

Room Tip: Ask for room with sea view.

We went here by mistake, thinking we would be in Old Monemvasia, but it was a lucky mistake. The hospitality is outstanding, and (as long as you have a sea view room) so are the views, across to the empty side of Monemvasia itself. It was October, so no-one else was staying, but we couldn't have been looked after better. I was fully expecting to be offered pork chop and chips for supper, but we had a fantastic meal (see my Annema restaurant review).
Breakfast was a trifle carb heavy, with toast, butter, honey and jam, nutella pancakes AND ham and cheese toasties, but it certainly sets you up for a good climb up to Ag Sophia in Monemvasia!
Room was spotless, standard Greek hard mattress, small shower/toilet, fridge and TV - would be an excellent choice for a quiet break.

Room Tip: Make sure you opt for a sea view room - the others are described as mountain view, but you get a roa...

I would like to say that I had a marvelous time . The hotel was amazing right by the sea with great view and very clean rooms . The people were very kind and we felt right at home. It is very close to Monemvasia only 5 minutes by car. The breakfast was very good and the kitchen had also amazing offers for lunch and dinner with fresh fish and other great dishes. I will most defenetly visit again Annema hotel for other vacations as well.

We stayed at the Annema for a week in August and found the hospitality to be in true Greek philoxenic fashion. This family-run hotel is well situated for exploring the coast and interior of Laconia and for visiting the remarkable historic town of Monemvasia, which is a short drive away. The view of The Rock, from the hotel, is absolutely beautiful, and there is nothing better than swimming from the hotel's pontoon in a calm sea with it as a backdrop. It did not take us long to realise that the food in the restaurant, is in fact some of the best traditional fayre on offer in the area, and is all prepared and cooked by the family. It is quite difficult to find modestly priced, clean and comfortable hotels in this part of the world, as there are so many self -catering holiday apartments, but this one is a real gem and we enjoyed our stay at the Annema very much.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front overlooking the bay have the spectacular view.
