Foldens hotel is ideally located at the end or beginning of the pedestrian streets --- and that is a nice location to pick when visiting Skagen. And visit Skagen is recommendable in itself. All in all Foldens hotel was a pleasent stay and with value for money as you would / should expect it. Our two rooms where clean and inviting, and spaceious. Breakfast provided the basics for getting started with ok quality (but for one thing: why use egg powder for the scrambled eggs? Tasteless...).

Visited with friends and family and it's clear that what this hotel can offer in terms of location and number of beds it lacks in service and costumer pleasing.

Upon arrival we were told that an extra charge would be put on the room because we needed a bed for our six month old son. This information can not be found on their website and was not being informed to us over phone when we called to book the stay. The reply from the front desk was: "Well nothing is for free."
The room was cold as stone and tiny.

There was no phone connection in the room to contact front desk so we had to cross the street to get in contact with them. We stayed on the second floor and were told that the elevator was out of order. No information about when it would be up and running again and indeed during our stay it wasn't fixed.

In a city like Skagen with the huge amount of hotels and vacation rentals, Foldens Hotel could be in for a tough ride if they don't up their service level. I for sure will be looking elsewhere the next time I visit Skagen.

Our room wasn’t in the building that appears in the pictures, but in another one, across the Skagen station.
It looked like the place has been renovated recently, newly painted and new carpets. The room was OK, quite big and comfortable, but the bathroom horrible. No bathtub, not even a shower cabin. After taking a shower there was water all over the place, no place to hang towels or your change clothes. Not at all what you would expect for a four-star hotel and the price we paid for the room.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the main building, I guess the facilities are better there.

We originally booked at the Foldens Annex, upon arrival we were so disappointed. Surrounded by construction and it felt like we were in a warehouse district. However, the hotel staff changed us to another room in another building without any hesitation. They were very nice about it. Our new room was quaint and lovely. Nothing fancy but adequate for our needs. Even included a balcony. The building we were placed in was directly across from the train station so it was a great location, very close to the center of the town which is very pleasant and full of arts and crafts. Just wonderful
Room was clean, very basic and this is an older place. Some attention to details could improve it. However, if we return to Skagen, we would consider staying here again.
Breakfast was ok but was included so we were thankful for that.

We bought a package of accommodation with dinner and breakfast. The hotel is very basic, several places appear worn and outdated.
On the positive side: good location in the city center within walking distance to the different attractions. Great dinner & a friendly waiter. Clean rooms.
On the negetiv side: The hotel needs an upgrade with focus on indoors decor and attention to details.

Room Tip: Please note that some of the rooms are near the hotel bar which is very noisy. Pre-book a quiet room...

We came for the first time to Skagen in Denmark to stay at Folden Hotel & Cafe.
It was a smal hotel with a nice atmosphere and personal service.
Our room was small and cozy and the breakfast was wonderful.
We are looking forward to visit this hotel again.

Booked with short leadtime Foldens Hotel for a "Old-boys night out" in Skagen. On arrival the hotel had allocated room with double beds instead of twin rooms as desired. The hotel changed the room with a smile, no excuses - they changed it ! Rooms are simple but have an adequate decor and function for a sleep only hotel.
The breakfast buffet is OK - Not elaborate!
Here in summer time many norwegians are here, having theier spirts and beers embeed in the bréakfast - strange - but their choice!

We we were satisfied with this hotel - and will come back and use it as our base for night outs in Skagen !

Room Tip: Room 106 has an excellent exit to a huge joint terrace!
