We had a first floor room with great views across the old square. The staff were friendly and very helpful and the food in the restaurant was good ( we ate lunch and dinner there). Some minor annoyances - instant coffee for breakfast, very dim lights in our room and no hairdryer. Trebon is a delightful small town with the usual beautiful central square.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the square - the view at night of the lit up buildings was beautiful

Hotel in one of the most beautiful houses in Třeboň. Hotel / annex restaurant on the main square where one daily needs to juggle with parking spaces located on its inner courtyard: it is best not to plan any trips outside the city anand leave the car where it is, as by full occupancy there are far too few parkingspaces and the parkingpolicy is on a “first come, first served basis”, if you really need your car for trips outside the city centre it would be best to make use of the public parkinglot outskirts of the city at a fee. As this hotel was just taken over in March (previous owner did not pass on any reservation or mails, so luckily we made a telephonecall on forhand or we would have had no accomodation!) the staff really works miracles (though at a high work pressure: the friendly host who folds double backwards to please his guests, he must nearly have residence overthere as he was present from 6 ’o clock dusk until 9 pm dawn). Incidentally, we had a mobile air conditioning in our spacious room (but the host didn't know how to operate the thing and neather did we, but later on we managed). Breakfast buffet form has plenty of choise. The restaurant has a large clientele and the price / quality ratio is excellent. This hotel is highly recommended.

Trebon is a great place to see, especially if you are interested in Central European Renaissance. However, this hotel turned out to be completely disappointing experience. Although we duly booked both parking place and a double room in advance, nothing worked. First of all, when faced with all the parking places completely occupied, we were told unexpected guests arrived and we were sent to public parking place behing the historical town gate. Somewhat early start of the tour. However, what was worse, back in hotel, we were led to the attic of the house in the immediate vicinity of the hotel and - again with reference to the "unexpected arrival of another guests" - attributed a a room - which apparently served to the staff and their family members. When a few minutes later a cocroach-type insect appeared near the bathroom, we were sure this was not the hotel of the dreams ... unless one would prefer a Psycho-style holidays ... and sought a refuge in hotel U Tri lvu in Ceske Budejovice which we can definitely recommend. Rather poor image for a hotel Bily Konicek located in a building with unique Renaissance facade dating back to the 1550s....

Excellent location, right on main square. Our room was on the side of the building; there was some traffic noise from side road in evening, but noise was only intermittent for a couple of hours. Historic façade to building. Clean, modern interior. Enjoyed seeing photos and engravings in hallways showing the hotel at various times in its existence.
Friendly staff. Good English spoken by attentive reception staff, but other staff more likely to know some German rather than English. Payment in cash at check-in. Check-in was about 1:30 pm. We arrived earlier, so we left our bags at hotel and went exploring.
Starting in 2012, breakfast is included in the price of the room; served at 9:00 Sun.-Fri., and at 8:00 on Sat. Simple buffet on weekends (bread, butter, jam, sliced cheese, sliced cold-cuts, juice, instant coffee). Monday morning there was no buffet -- instead we had a generous plate of fresh-cooked ham and eggs (three eggs), bread, and fresh coffee.
Daily lunch specials include three choices at very good price. When we had the lunch special, our options were pork with bacon knedlicky (very tasty!), chicken with pasta (nice, mild comfort food), and chili con carne (we didn’t try this one). Beer choices were limited, but good quality.
Break, Lunch, Dinner are available from the menu, as well, except no Sunday dinner. It seems to be a popular place with locals. Servers speak some German. We didn’t try the dinner, but the choices on the menu looked good: typical hearty and inexpensive Czech dishes. Bring your Czech dictionary or phrase book – you might need it to help interpret the menu.
The hallways could be better lit, especially the entrance staircase. Our eyes had a little trouble adjusting to the darkish interior when we came inside from the bright, sunny main square.

Room Tip: Our room was on the 2nd floor on the side of the building where a street goes by. There was intermi...

The hotel is situated right on the main square, which makes it a great starting point for visiting the whole city (you can walk to the renaissance castle - there are peacocks in the castle garden, to the old brewery, pond Svět or you can just walk through the center and admire the architecture of the houses on the main square.)

We were accommodated on the first floor, windows to the backyard, so there was no noise. The room was equipped with double bed, table and two chairs, TV, bar and bathroom with shower and toilet. It was simple and clean.

We didn't have a breakfast, but we came to the hotel restaurant for lunch, which was great. They offered traditional Czech dishes - big portions for reasonable price, we had beer and we tasted some rum (they have quite a large and interesting selection of them). The restaurant room is refurbished, it is spacious, bright and they have wonderful poster on the wall (a big old photo of the square and the hotel).

The staff was nice and friendly.

Right across the hotel is a cinema and next to the hotel is a nice sweet shop.

A very unpretentious and inexpensive hotel right on the lovely main square of Trebon. The cheerful staff speak very little English, and the rather frumpy bar-restaurant appears to be frequented mainly by locals. Our cozy room, directly overlooking the square, was surprisingly attractive, clean, bright, and well-appointed. You can get a hearty breakfast at the bar downstairs although it's not included in the price of the room. I would happily stay there again.
