After reading all the positive reviews I entrusted myself and my husband in the care of this facility.
We had either very bad luck or the service is not as flawless as mentioned here.
The hotel is for sure the best hotel in town, modern, designed with taste and good standard in Slovak terms.
We booked the room directly. When we arrived there was very young boy at the reception who was obviously confused and unable to assist us when we demanded better quality room.As they gave us loft room with no airconditioning and with steep staircase leading into the sleeping area.
Eventually we managed, after one hour to find better room. The hotel was fully booked even though when we asked at the time of the reservation(two days before)we were informed there was low occupancy.
We got room for disabled people...Which means shower with no door or curtain whatsoever. However the view was on the beautiful square.
When this ordeal was over we took quick stroll around the town, which is unfortunatelly full of gypsies.
We came back and wanted to sit down for dinner,at around 7 30 pm we were told the cook is leaving. We were stunned as the restaurant was full of people, foreigners and we were not allowed in to be served.I wonder what kind of policy the hotel has giving better service to foreigners than locals.
The waiter was quite arrogant absolutely indifferent to our wish to dine.
We had to take the car and travel 20km to find decent place to eat.
We almost had no desire to stay in the hotel.
To top it all the booklet about the town history we purchased at the reception was badly printed missing every second page.
Honestly I would not stay in the hotel anymore. For the money you can receive much better service elsewhere. Its better to stay in the Tatras,Grand hotel Praha,is my advice.
