“Latvian rainbow of flavors”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2013

I must tell you that I went there with concern what to expect. But like everything in recent years in Latvia, even this did not disappoint me. It was amazing, more than 500 kinds of food, beer from its own brewery and a great atmosphere. We ordered borscht and really regret!

“Be hungry - there is plenty to choose from!!!!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2013

Had a very nice dinner in this restaurant...Plenty of traditional food, along with lot of BBQ meats and different kinds of salads and pastries..It is a self-service restaurant, quite huge, live music in the basement, selling their own produced beer, if i am not wrong...All in all, very enjoyable and not expensive.....Worth a try!!!!!

“Worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2013

We walked here, long way!! However once we found it we were not disappointed. The food is cheap, plentiful and tasty. The beer is also cheap and can be had by the litre for 1.90 lats. Very enjoyable afternoon.

“The best restaurant in Riga”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2013

I ate three times in two of the Lido restaurants in Riga in Oct 2013. a buffet restaurant with lots of choice, although not many for vegetarians. It is one of the best restaurants n town, with traditional Latvian food, cooked in a nice environment. You actually see how they cooked, with original ingredients before you. I did not want to eat anywhere else. Their fish is very good. I did not try meat. My Latvian friends told me that it is one of the best restaurants where you can eat traditional Latvian food at a reasonable price, and that must be true given the number of college students eating inside.

“Unique cafeteria experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2013 via mobile

This restaurant is like a gigantic cafeteria, with a beer hall on the first floor, the main serving area on the main floor, and a full-service restaurant on the upper floor. The basement also has some food, but is mainly snack food for the beer-drinking crowd. There is lots of room for revelry.

The amount of interesting Latvian foods on the main floor is out-of-control. Kind of overwhelming. Chicken station, salad station, meat station, soup station, drink station, dessert station; whatever you could want, it is there. I suggest walking around without a tray first so you can make some choices, otherwise you'll be taking enough food for three people.

The food quality is excellent, and the prices are reasonable. I thought the spicy chicken kebobs were excellent, as were their signature fried potatoes. These are not deep fried, but rather done in big wok-style skillets with oil and garlic. Put a little gravy on the plate for dipping, and don't forget a soup and some pickles on the side!

The place is great fun. There's also a huge play area for kids outside. Highly recommended!
