The hotel is handily placed for access by public transport from the airport (bus, 0.70 Lats) with the stop to the airport directly outside and from the airport diagonally opposite outside the Stockmann building.
Extremely hand for the Old Town - the back door opens into one of the boundary streets of the Old Town. A bit distant from the 'Centre', which is the Art Nouveau district, but the tram system is fine.
I had a room on the top floor, with grand views across the Moscow District, the markets, the river, and Stalin's birthday cake. comfortable, good shower room, and in February toasty warm. Good breakfast with a range to suit most european requirements - bacon for the Brits, raw herring for the Balts, and everything in between.
Check-in time is 3.00, and I was early, but they happily put my bag in the luggage room so I could start to explore straight away.
I booked through an internet discount site and got amazing value for money - the advertised rack-rate at reception I would have found a bit high.
If i were to return at a warmer time of year, I would definitely book here again.
