We visited from 19th September until 23rd September. The Hotel was very near all the bars and restaurants which was good for my husband as he has mobility problems. We had a small room on the ground floor overlooking the courtyard. The only problem not a lot of natural light but got used to it. We had breakfast once while in the hotel. Thought it was quite expensive for what we had so we ate out after that. The staff were helpful especially after an unfortunate experience with a taxi from the airport. Always take the GREEN BALTIC TAXIS the price is fixed we unfortunately did not and landed up paying 15 Euros but the hotel very kindly managed to track down the offending driver and we received somemoney back!!

Room Tip: We asked for a low floor but my sister and partner has a room on the first floor which was really go...

all of old town is right our your front door. the room we stayed in was great with a big flat screen tv, minifridge and enough space for my wife, one year old son and myself to move around. we were very happy with the room.

This hotel is on a small street in the old city. The street is closed to traffic, but there is taxi access a half block away. The room was clean and fairly roomy, and the staff was helpful. In all, this is a good choice for value, although the rooms at the front can be quite noisy on the week-ends (Riga is a party town).

Room Tip: Avoid the rooms that face the street, because they can be noisy.

First impression is of gloom, silence and dark timbers. Not unlike visiting an old aunt's villa. Tucked away, close to everything, great sleeping, clean and decent sized rooms, fab restaurant, charming courtyard, good service.
The only grizzle I can honestly come up with is that wifi didn't even work in the courtyard, I had to sit in the lobby. But this is no big thing. Our taxi couldn't drop us off at the door but the walk is so short no one could possibly complain. Anyway, this is the same for all quaint accommodation in all ancient cities.

Room Tip: If you can't handle stairs, ask for a courtyard room.

The room was large and clean -- not fancy. There were some minor issues -- wifi only in lobby, water accumulated on floor from shower -- but we were there 7 days and were pleased with our hotel choice. Breakfast menu (with the room) included eggs (your choice), toast, yogurt, cheese, meat (ham some days, tongue others) -- enough to make a real lunch unnecessary -- so I had a beer instead of lunch.

We were particularly pleased with the cable "Mezzo" channel which carries classical music performances almost exclusively -- why can't we get this in the US?

On the weekend we were a bit affected by noise from some late-night parties but were warned ahead of time by the staff about the possibility.

Overall, given the chance, we'd go back to Riga and stay in the same hotel -- it was a really nice trip and vacation.

Room Tip: We stayed in their suite -- room 20 I believe.

The hotel was right in the old town, and convenient for the bus and train stations. The room was nice and clean - not particuarly freshly decorated, but very good for the price. The staff were really nice and helpful.

The wifi didn't work in our room, even though it was close to reception, which was a bit annoying.

While we didn't have any problems with traffic or street noise, as we were facing an inner courtyard, the kitchen staff from the restaurant play incredibly loud music very late at night while they wash up, which is a problem in room 19. This is especially annoying as the hotel emphasises how quiet it is. The first night I couldn't sleep till 2am as I couldn't work out where the noise was coming from. The second night I did and asked someone from the kitchen to turn it down at about midnight which they did immediately. The third night I had to call reception at 4am, as it had woken me up. Again, they switched it off straight away.
