Stumbled on this place entirely by accident. Ended up having lunch and several beers (of which they have a fantastic selection- both local and imported), all of which were recommended to us by the waiter, who I think was called Oleg. He was extremely enthusiastic about his workplace and about Riga, and ended up giving us a number of suggestions for our short stay. We had traditional Latvian garlic bread, which is an absolute must-try if you like to eat things- aside from this, the food was really nothing special, but the experience was made excellent by the great service we received and lovely atmosphere. We came back a few days later and had chocolate cake, which was nothing short of divine.
Also, they have a terrapin in a tank upstairs.
