We had lovely rooms at the front with the bay window. Clean and well-furnished. A basket of snacks and a small bottle of wine on arrival. Staff friendly enough on the whole - just one example of one being a little unhelpful when I wanted a drink.
We ate in the hotel every evening - good buffet food. Only one choice of main meal, but plenty of salad and sides. Not haute cuisine, but great value, as it is included in the price. Bit disappointed not to have cakes or muffins with afternoon tea - tried the waffles once, but tended to eat out in the day - lots of excellent places, even just round the corner. Very good breakfast. Nice seating areas on the ground floor to relax and have coffee.
Just a few idiosyncrasies in the room - like no hand soap and no drawers, and the hot water took several minutes to make its way to the shower! A little noisy at the front as others have said - but windows are double-glazed and there is not much else they could do. beds very comfortable and safe/TV/wifi all worked just fine.
The hotel is located within walking distance of the city (10-15 mins). And there are some great strolls to be enjoyed in the streets around - there is a beautiful church to the north and a fascinating art deco area with restaurants, bars and wonderful building facades - only 5 minutes to the west.
Highly recommended for a short break.
