“Nice Three-Star Hotel, Good Location”

Catch Bus 22 from the airport, get off at Stockmann stop, walk back 50 meters and cross under the underpass, come up on the right side and there you are at the Forums Hotel on Valnu street. A compact 32-room three-star hotel which delivers what you should expect of a three-star hotel. Small rooms, but very clean bathrooms, no air conditioning (not critical), no in-room safes (although safe deposit boxes in lobby). Three-star breakfast each morning, certainly satisfying and plentiful. Friendly and helpful staff. An easy five-minute walk to the center of Old Town, with many good restaurants and pubs even closer. I have no complaints about this hotel and would recommend it to budget travelers.

Originally reserved with St. Peter's Botique Hotel. Got off the airplane and got an email St. Peter had a water quality problem and they booked me at the Forums. I suspect the St. Peter was over booked because of the tall ships races and the water problem was not really an issue. St. Peter was a few blocks from the Forums and I walked over there - busy place, no water problem. Settled at the Forums "suite". On the fifth floor with a tiny balcony they call it a suite. Well, it was clean, well serviced, the jacuzzi did not work. Breakfast included - had better at other hotels. Dinner was decent and very inexpensive. OK service. All in all, I was not impressed but not disappointed as I got a fair value.

great location. price was reasonable. breakfast was decent - no pancakes left :( room was clean and nice, but very very hot. our overall experience was great.the staff was friendly and they spoke english.

As a single traveller i choosed this place for it's location and reasonable rate. The hotel is great located just steps away from the airport busses and short walking distance to the Old City but that's all. I can't say staff were very friendly or helpful. My room was just average, nothing nice. If you are on budget you can chose this place for a short visit.

We chose this hotel for price and location. It was an inexpensive option within a short walking distance of all the sites. The hotel was very clean, and the staff friendly. It was also a five minute walk to a large grocery store, as well as a mall. There were several restaurants nearby as well. The breakfast was hot, and much more than continental. It was tasty.

Minuses are that the room was really small as we had a king size bed in a room made for a double, and there did not appear to be any air conditioning. It was quiet enough on the street with the windows open, but there wasn't much of a breeze.

Cannot ask for better in terms of location. Right by the bus station and train station and yet in the old square, this cannot be beat in terms of location. The hotel is a 3* at best. The rooms smelled a bit smokey, but opening the windows did the trick. Although that posed a different problem of noise,but thank god we were not here for the weekend. The music outside the window died down by 2 am and we feel asleep OK. The voices never did, but for the price we paid we cannot ask for everything. The central galleria is also right next door with all shopping easily accessible.

For a small hotel like this it is a rare pleasure to have encountered the staff being so responsive and helpful. Not in every 4 or 5 star hotel you'd find a service like this. This is a definite big plus.
There are certain minuses though, like dining room should have accommodated less tables and more food. Surprisingly, the impression from the farewell sandwich that we received as we were leaving early in the morning, was far better than that from the breakfast... Well, maybe I'm too picky about the food :)
Anyway, hotel is very good, rooms are very clean and quite spacious, so really recommended to those traveling to Riga for 1-2 days.
