They care for your from your arrival at Riga airport. Run half hour non stop shuttle to the hotel, check-in took less than 3 min. Being part of Estonian Reval Hotels Group the building rises next to government offices and the Orthodox Cathedral in a green zone along Elizabeta street.
Standard rooms are functional and large enough, but without posh amenities. Breakfast is plentyful and tasty, consisting of a hot buffet choice of international brand food and local specialities. Liked their fitness center on 27th floor as well as the beautiful view from Sky Bar on 26th.
Staff is friendly and efficient, except the concierge´, who did not show up at all, when we asked some questions about sightseeing and Riga Card. (better buy it in the Tourist Center in Old Town).
Walk along Elizabeta street and you will be able to admire some of the finest Art Nouveau Houses that can be seen in Europe today. A 3 min walk brings you to Liberty Statue, Opera House and the gate to Old Riga. Take tram 5 from Opera House, go 2 stations and you land on the other end of the old town, close to river Daugava.
For traditional Latvian food, go to Taverna in the Old Town or try some of the Lido bistros (e.g. 2 blocks away on Elizabeta street).
