“Ok coffee”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2013

The coffee is ok. However, there is often no soap in the bathroom at the Blaumana location and when there is no soap, it takes at least a few days to get more soap. Considering that there are other Costas nearby, it would be good to get more soap from the other locations if the Blaumana one doesn't have any in storage.

“Many vegetarian sandwiches”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

Usually I don't go to chains and prefer to go to independent cafes. However, when I first started going here, I thought it was a local Latvian company. I also didn't know about any independent cafes until later. There was a nice barista named Aija working here who was also very friendly and helpful to me and recommended Latvian websites for finding apartments, etc. Now she's a manager at the Valdemara location so I started going to that one instead. Although I still prefer independent cafes to chains, nice baristas such as Aija made me realize huge chains aren't so bad after all.

They have a number of vegetarian sandwiches some of which are hot ones and are good if you are in a hurry because Narvesen doesn't have vegetarian sandwiches.

“Why a chain when so many good coffee shops?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2012

I felt guilty going to a Costa when there are quite a few good / great independent coffee shops in Riga. However, I wanted to see if I could use my UK loyalty card! (No, you can't, but they kindly gave me a discount.) The coffee was OK, just like in a Costa anywhere. But the mochacinno cake was very good and, it saddens me to say, better than those at some of the independents.

“It is not a restaurant it is *starbacks”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2012

Nice coffee, pre-paid in advance sandwiches and wraps, loads of syrup and whipped cream and cakes with muffins all-american-way that can stay in the fridge for months. The usual thing for an urban life.

“Great coffee, friendly staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2012

This is my favorite Costa Coffee. The staff are very friendly and it is not as touristy as the one on Raina Blvd. There is nice people watching if you sit by the window. The bathroom conveniently has two hooks for hanging up things, a nice lower hook for hanging up pocketbooks and a higher hook for hanging up long coats; although I don't recommend putting any heavy backpacks on those hooks just light things. Next door is Lulu Pizza which is great for a quick bite to eat.
