“A great spot for lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012 via mobile

Well stacked menu with uncomplicated dishes. The stand out dishes in our meal were the tomato soup and goat cheese stacked vegetables which oozed of freshness. The chicken burrito though well made was wrongly described as a burrito should have been called a wrap. Regardless the food was enjoyable, service friendly and the setting though simple but is warm.

“My favorite place in Riga where to have good food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012

if you wanna have a charming/hipster dinner or lunch, or brunch or whatever don't miss it. I've been there several times and each of those I was literally impressed by the quality of the food and the price. It's not cheap for Riga standard but it's not expensive, it's the right comprise between quality and price.

“Probably best dining experience in three weeks”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2012

I had read about this place before we left on a tour for the Baltic states plus. We went here on our "on your own meal night." It really is not far from Old Town if that is where you are located. But it sure doesn't look like Old Town. The decor is a bit funky and and the customers a little younger than in a lot of Old Town restaurants but not the younger Old Town drinking set. I suspect it is in part what it seems to be -- an establishment favored more by neighborhood residents than tourists. The atmosphere was relaxed and quiet (it was a Sunday.) I had the lamb dish and a lamb soup. My wife had a fresh tomato soup with ravioli and the duck. My wife, who is an excellent cook, loved the soup so much she will soon be making it for the two of us. My lamb and her duck were both done correctly, that is not overdone. In far too many places we dined at the meats were a little too well done. We will probably never visit the restaurant again, but if somehow we find ourselves in Riga again we will make it a point to visit at least once. The prices compare quite favorably with other restaurants. On our visit the service was exactly what we wanted.
What more can I say -- go there and eat well!

“Good - sometimes”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2012

Stopped by Fazenda a few times for lunch and dinner as the atmosphere is pleasant (although the music can be a bit loud), the menu is more daring than most places in Riga and the prices are reasonable. It's a pity that that the quality of the food differs considerably per course and per day. The crème brûlée has been both wonderful and terrible, once the soup was good, once the soup was cold and tasteless, and on the same plate the main component has been cooked to perfection while the veggies had been drowned in lukewarm oil. Service is a bit above Latvian standards, usually friendly, but serving a main course while the starter is only halfway finished is in no way acceptable.

“Really nice restaurant!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2012 via mobile

This restaurant is really worth a visit. For the nice surrounding in a backyard, for the actually excellent food, and because it is NOT in old town. Making it more relaxed and not that touristy. You're sitting outside in nice furniture and eating lovely soup, fish and meat dishes. Salads. Nice desserts. Not that expensive. A really nice spot!!!
