Best hostel to stay in Riga. Modern, clean, safe & fun. The host, Ieva, is fantastic & is a great host. Close to transport & a nice short walk into the the old town. Cannot fault this place & deserves its number 1 rating.

This hostel does not accept the stag and hen do's that are abundant in the town and as a result it attracts a much more eclectic set of travelers which gives a more authentic travelling experience.
The location is perfect for a youth hostel, you can't ask for more and the way it is discreetly tucked away in an unassuming corner of a building just adds to the feeling of security you feel inside this little oasis.
The amenities are fantastic, the girls dorm has everything you could possibly need to do your hair with (tongs, straighteners, dryer and even cotton buds and moisturising creams) and the smell of fresh baked cookies is very welcoming!
It is still a very new hostel so Ieva is still refurbishing but it is great to see the money being re-invested in the place. The room we stayed in was a private room with a mirror (very helpful) and a table but no shelves or cupboard for the clothes which would have been the icing on the cake.
We also only gave 4 points on the quality of sleep (nothing to do with the bed which was great) due to the fact that it is a YH and let’s be honest...there is always one drunk person roaming the corridors looking for the toilet at night which can wake you up if you are a light sleeper but it is nothing out of the ordinary for a Youth Hostel where you can have a good old bit of fun without even leaving the hostel, perfect!

Well, I don't think I have ever really written one of these reviews for Trip Advisor before, but after staying at this hostel I wanted everyone on here to know how great it is!
Ieva (or Sally her alter ego, whichever you prefer) is one of the nicest & most beautiful people I've had the luck to meet. She is currently hiring staff so if for some reason you are from Riga and looking for a job - I would imagine she would be the best boss to have!
The hostel is in a central location (and literally 2 floors above McDonalds, so it makes the walk back home after a big night one of the best walks in Riga!) right near the train and bus station. I walked to and from both nearly every day on the way to other sights, so getting around is no problem. Rooms are big, with windows and the bunks were big. Lockers in the rooms. Towels. Everything you need really.
Ieva the owner is great - gives you a map and talks you through the best places to go. She was so proud that hers was the number one hostel on trip advisor when I was there. But she was also worried that so many people were giving her good ratings that she was thinking maybe she should log in and give the hostel a bad rating so people wouldn't think it was all made up!
So, all in all? Stay here. Do it. Listen to her amazing chill out playlist, or as she says, "put on whatever you want to play" when you get there.
It will feel like home before you know it! :)

It was really good luck for me to choose the hostel from dozens of others. That's true it's perfectly well located - just a few minutes from the station and the old Riga. The hostel itself is not big what I think makes it so cosy. One can find everything here (all the facilities needed). The biggest advantage is the common room where even such not talkative person like me could find things to discuss with the others (thanks to the maps on the walls).
I shall definetly return to the Cinnamon Sally's when back in Riga.

This is a fantastic place. The staff are incredible! I think the place pretty much speaks for itself. Upon entrance, you feel right at home with very warm soul enriching colours to stimulate your little heart. Nice and safe from the cold. Fortunately the staff never sleep here so you can check in anytime you want. The location is perfect, close to bars, clubs, food, there's even a mcdonalds right downstairs to tempt you on your drunken sprawl home. I had the luck of being taken shooting and bob sledding with Cinnamon Sally herself. How could you resist that? The place is very warm so you don't need to rug up. The kitchen was open for us to use and do anything we want. Oh, and free coffee and tea yayyyy. Last but not least, the host definitely looks after you, and shows you great places to eat, see, and things to do. Thanks for the great stay XX

This is really perfect place for people who want to stay cheaply and want to walk around and look all the places in Riga. Walk able to all locations easily. I just recommend this as a good place for Backpackers. I myself visited several times. You can even cook your own food if you wish to cook in the common kitchen. Big supermarket Rimi is just 2 minutes walk in the big shopping complex which is just opposite. Downstairs is Mc Donald's. Airport bus 22 takes you to this place with 50 centims (half Lat currency). You get down at Stockmanns centrs busstop after approximately 25 minutes if you do not wish to take a taxi which might take 9 or 10 Lats.
