Amazing hotel in the heart of the city. Me and my wife were surprised by the prices, location and service. In 10 minutes walk - The Old City, Train Station, Bus Stop, Shuttle Bus stop (well, the latter two are in 3-5 minutes walk).
So, I definitely recommend this hotel for those who planning to spend some days in Riga.

I stayed there for one night only, but I would be very glad to visit it again. The staff were very freindly and helpful (yes, they are really ready to solving your problems). Breakfast was good, various and with tasty coffee. The hotel is located close to the historical center and in the same time it's not far from Jugendstil quarter (if you like 'art nouveau', take a look). So, it's very good place, strongly recommended.

We spent in hotel Edvards 4 days and all this time we were getting pleasure of high professional, friendly oriented, hospitable staff.
Room was clean, breakfast was plentiful and delicious.

Our vacation was nice.

We are glad to recommend this hotel

I can't imagine why this hotel isn't more highly rated here, I really enjoyed my stay and would certainly stay again if I go back to Riga. The staff were very helpful - no need to trek over to the T.I. My room was a little oddly shaped, but I liked it, and it certainly came with functioning AC.

So, the bedroom was comfortable, with plenty of closet space. The shower was big enough to turn around in, and the (hot) water stayed where it was supposed to. Breakfast included eggs cooked to order and loads of good coffee and juice. Wifi worked in my room (unlike the place I just stayed in Tallinn), and the front desk printed my boarding pass for me.

Certainly, if you want a big western chain hotel you should stay at the Radisson nearby, but you can do that at home. Equally, if you've come to Riga to get drunk and crawl home at 4:00 in the morning, you'd be better off in the old town. Otherwise, this hotel is well placed for the best of the Art Nouveau buildings, and is only a short walk from the old town.

While there is more choice of eating (and drinking) places in the old town, there are two very good wine bars (D'Vine and Tinto) to the east, and the lovely Art Cafe Sienna to the west. And don't miss the Apsara tea house - the one in the park with the spiral staircase.

In the center of Riga, right next to the fashionable Elisabetes street, is positioned this impecably clean family run hotel. No more than 5 minute walk from the historical center.
The service at Edvards is attentive and helpful, rooms not too large and pretty basic but the bathrooms are quite spacious and immaculate, the wifi is free, the TV has a full satelite pack, and breakfast is surprisingly rich and varied.
A genuine steal, especially in the high season.

Room Tip: Try to get a room with a balcony - if they have one they will gladly give it to you.

No air conditioning...it was in the 80's and the courtyard serves as a reflector oven.
Staff was wonderful. TV was miniscule, hung on the wall towards the corner, leaving a big blank space to stare at from the bed. Nice prints poorly positioned on other walls. It they wish to pursue boutique designation they need to check a number of other fine hotels in Riga's old town for ideas, particularly for placement. Location is excellent for walking tours of the old town and the art nouveau architecture district. I've visited Riga old town extensively in the late 90's and the current mix of old and new styles clash and interesting shops replaced by more casinos and tawdry restaurants. However, the resurgent art nouveau residential area alone was worth a visit. Free Internet access.

We just stayed here this week. We only spent a night as we were bumped from a nearby hotel we were booked in.

It is small, only 20 rooms. It is family run/operated and that really comes across. The service is intimate.

The room was smallish. It was very very clean. The bathroom was immaculate and well maintained, as if it was installed that week. Wi-Fi was good and free. Decor is rather un-memorable.

Breakfast was 7am-10am and very nice for a place as small as this. Eggs to order, cereals, meats, hams etc. Fresh ground tea and coffee.

Some other notes: No -
in-room tea or coffee
room safe
air conditioning

Summary: Really nice place if you want a small hotel with a nice and personal experience. I find it amazing that this place is somehow ranked as 66/99 in Riga, as no other reviewer seems to mark it lower than 4.5/5!

Room Tip: Unaware of any difference
