I recently went on a trip around the Baltic countries and of all the hostels I stayed in, this one was definitely one of my favourites. I slept in the biggest, 12-bed dorm, and I really liked how spacious it was; the bunk beds are placed next to the walls which leaves a lot of open space in the middle of the room where there's a big table with some chairs. There are also big metal lockers under the beds, and enough electric sockets for everyone. The bathroom is nice and clean as well.
The common room has a lovely homely feeling and I found it very easy to get to know the other guests there; though I suppose I also got lucky with the people who were staying there at the same time as me. Either way, spending an evening in the common room felt more like hanging out at a friend's place than being in a hostel.
The lady who was at the reception at the time of my stay was super nice as well, offered me a map of the city and recommended some of her favourite places right away when I checked in, and came to chat in the common room with us sometimes and help us with anything we needed.
The only suggestion I have is that it would be nice if they put up a bigger sign on the front door. But I absolutely loved my stay here and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Liepaja.
